Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 794

Chapter 794:

In the grand front hall, Melany stood at a distance, her gaze fixed on the inner area where an unusual exchange caught her attention. Something about the scene felt off.

“Colton, did you notice that the woman who received those roses looked familiar?” she said quietly, her voice tinged with curiosity.

Melany had been paying closer attention than she intended. After all, she had just learned the silver-haired man was none other than the head of Fleeingland Lab, and the woman beside him stirred a strange sense of recognition. Colton’s response was dismissive. He barely glanced in the woman’s direction before shrugging.

“She looks a little like the researcher who greeted us at the research institute’s reception room that day.”

Hearing this, Melany frowned, an unsettling image flashing through her mind — Alice. But something didn’t add up; it wasn’t a perfect match. Her thoughts were interrupted as the woman turned and ascended the staircase. Her elegant silhouette radiated a presence that was impossible to ignore.

“But Colton, why do I feel she resembles Allison so much?” Melany furrowed her brows, her words spilling out before she could stop herself.

Her words hit a nerve. The moment Allison’s name was mentioned, Colton’s whole demeanor changed. He longed to see the real Allison, not just a shadow that vaguely resembled her.

“It can’t be her. Verruckt has nothing to do with her, and she’s with Kellan now,” he said with a bitter laugh. Colton knew that Allison hated him so much. Even if she was right here, it had nothing to do with him.

After all, she had made it clear that their paths would never cross again.

“And whether that woman looks like Allison or not, what difference does it make? Even if she’s the one hosting the banquet, it’s got nothing to do with us.”noveldrama

Colton understood that Allison wouldn’t want to see him. She had erased all contact and blocked him completely. After their divorce, he found that Allison had been decisive, and once she made up her mind, there was no going back.

She would never come back and take care of him again. Seeing Colton’s discomfort, Melany hesitated before asking softly, “Colton, what’s going on?”

Deep down, hearing him dismiss Allison gave her a strange sense of relief. Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling that he hadn’t truly moved on.

“I’m fine,” Colton muttered the words, downing his whiskey in one go. Frustration was evident in his every movement.

In the shadows, his face was illuminated by a flicker of self-mockery. He was the one who had pushed Allison away. He had no one to blame but himself.

Meanwhile, Allison was unaware that Colton was in the same building. She followed Verruckt up to the top floor.

“Room 1901 is yours,” Verruckt said, handing her the key card. A grin tugged at his lips as he admired the bouquet of roses she held. “These flowers really suit you,” he added.
