"Once I've found her and made sure she's alright, I'll start work. Once Christmas break starts, I'll come back. You don't have to get someone to pick me up. I'll just book my ticket in advance." Trenton felt that now that he was an adult, he could take care of himself while away from home and did not need his sister to take care of him at all times.

"Sure." After washing the dishes, Callum and Camryn walked out of their house.

Trenton had the good sense not to go with them and be a third wheel. Upon his return this time, he could tell that Camryn was a little fleshier and looked livelier than before, and Callum was taking excellent care of his sister.

"Really? I'm the one who texts and calls first every day. You were only gone for a few days, but it felt like years to me. When you're not by my side, honey, minutes feel like years. I finally know what they mean when they say even a day feels like three years apart. The pain of longing is unbearable."
