Chapter 3345
After the meal, apart from Patrick, the rest of the old gentlemen took their leave. The Stones warmly urged them to stay.noveldrama
Audrey said, "Old Mrs. York will be coming over later. She called me and told me to make sure you guys stay back because she wants to have a meal with you."
At this, Silver and the rest looked around at each other. Finally, Doc conceded, "Old Pat hasn't woken up yet. If we leave like this, he'll definitely complain about us abandoning him without a word when he wakes up. Why don't we stay in Wiltspoon for a little longer and head back tomorrow or the day after?"
He added, "Even I'm not in a rush to go back and see my grandson. You guys don't even have any grandchildren, so why are you in a rush to head back? To stare at each other? How boring."
Audrey chimed in, "That's right. Since you're already here, just stay a few more days so that I can thank you gentlemen properly for taking such good care of Uncle True all these years. You're the reason I could see him again."
They would not want gold, jewelry, or money as a reward because they were not short of money. Their disciples were big shots in their respective industries and probably had enough money to buy Stone Group out twice over. All Mrs. Stone could do was host them well and make sure they were satisfied in all aspects.
"Yeah, Master. We haven't met in so long. Now that we've finally met, you're in a rush to leave. I don't even have the chance to treat you to a meal." Sugar also urged her master to stay. She was going to be in Wiltspoon for another two days.
"We'll head back in a few more days, then. We have to see Old Mrs. York and if we don't let Old Pat know we're heading back, he'll get mad." The old gentlemen decided to stay.
Silver said to Audrey with a smile, "We'll have to impose on you for another few more days, then, Mrs. Stone."
Audrey hurriedly answered, with
agreement from the rest, "It's not an imposition at all. It's our honor, in fact. Once Old Mrs. York gets here later and if she invites you to stay at Wildridge Manor, you mustn't agree. You have to stay here so that we can properly repay your goodwill.”
Darrell agreed with his wife.
Doc laughed. "Old Mrs. York is considered an old friend of ours. We've met and are only reuniting decades later. If she invites us, we have to at least visit. Plus, my disciple has asked me to give Ms. Newman a check-up since I'm here anyway."
Camryn was one of the Yorks' daughters-in-law and was his disciple Dr. Carden's patient. Since they were staying in Wiltspoon for a few extra days, he would give Camryn a check-up.
Audrey knew that many of the older
generations knew Old Mrs. York or had at least heard of her, so if Old Mrs. York did invite the old
gentlemen to visit, she could not
stop them from going. Thus, she said with a smile, "You can stay there for a night, but please stay with us the rest of the time, okay?"
"We'll have to stay on shamelessly, then," the eldest among them agreed to Audrey's request.
Now that they had decided to stay in Wiltspoon a couple more days, Silver poked Sugar's forehead and said of her, "Tell me do you even still care about me? How long have we not seen each other? I'm old and can't move around much, but what about you?
"Don't you know to come back and
visit us? What are you so busy with? You're so busy every day, but you can't even bring my son-in-law back? Your siblings are all just the same. It's infuriating to see all of your young and single and stay that way into your thirties."
Sugar giggled. "We want you guys to live long lives, so we dare not go back and piss you off. Don't you know we're busy making money to take care
of you guys in your old age? It's very busy work, you know, there's no time to think about relationships."
Dan retorted, “Are we impoverished? Who says we need you guys to take care of us in our old age? You're full of excuses."
