"That's the suspicious part."

Jim added, "They were probably targeting you."

"I'm wondering if it was Madam Fisher's or her sons' doing."

Liberty analyzed the situation. "I don't think Madam Fisher would make such an amateur mistake. If she had arranged it, the drivers would've increased their speed only when they were nearer to me. It would be harder for me to dodge them.

"It can't be Caroline. I'm on good terms with her."

Liberty and Caroline were business rivals, always trying to snatch each others' clients.

Business aside though, they got along well. They would have become good friends if Caroline were not the Fisher family's heir.

Liberty admired Caroline's character.

"The Clark brothers probably want me dead, especially Adrian. I've sent his wife a picture of his affair with Celine. He must've guessed it was me.

"Now that Celine is dead, maybe he wants to avenge her.

"Madam Fisher has gone on a trip too. She doesn't want me alive, but she has far better methods."

Jim thought about it. "We'll investigate this matter."

"Don't tell Serenity before anything is confirmed. I don't want her to worry."

Liberty did not want Serenity to know that she had almost gotten into an accident again.

She was glad that it was her who came to Jensburg. If it were Serenity, she could have lost the baby from that fall.

"We understand, Ms. Hunt. Mr.

Zachary had assigned us to protect and obey you. We won't report minor incidents to him without your permission."

If something severe had happened, such as Liberty getting injured, they would bypass Liberty and inform Zachary.

They would not be able to bear the consequences if something were to happen to Liberty.

The bodyguards were fully aware of how close the sisters were.

Jim had witnessed Zachary and Serenity's journey since they got married.

Liberty knew Jim and the bodyguards understood the limits.

She also sent a message to the bodyguards assigned by the Lewises and the Stones, holding them back from reporting to anyone in Witt'spoon before the investigation was complete.

After reminding the bodyguards, Liberty recalled what had happened earlier and felt fearful.

Some people honestly did not care about human lives at all.

If she and her group had not dodged in time, many people would have been hit and heavily injured.

After all, she had her secretary, a few senior managers, and a team of bodyguards with her.

Some consideration later, Liberty called Caroline.

Caroline was the young lady of the Fisher family. Since Belinda was not around Caroline was temporarily in charge of the family. It would be faster if she were the one to

investigate her brothers.

Caroline was not close to her brothers. Liberty believed that she would do it.novelbin
