Chapter 983 Not That Kind of Person
Hugh was dissatisfied. The Perez family had a high position in Austos City. But they couldn't hold their heads high in front of the Lion Group. He was the eldest son in his family but had to serve in this company.
He was talented but had to work as an assistant. His father sent him here to hone his skills. Their family fortune was left to his brother. It was unfair. He did better than his brother, but his father didn't choose him. It didn't matter since he had got a chance.
Zoey approached him. As long as they joined hands, the Lion Group would be his for the taking. He would rise above the crowd. No one, his father included, would look down on him again. Hugh sorted out the files and went out. J led Timothy to go into the office.
"J, what happened? You came so suddenly. The meeting today was very important," Timothy grumbled.
His sister was the only person who could be forgiven for interrupting the meeting. Anyone else would have been fired. J closed the door and made sure that no one was nearby.
Then she turned around and said, "This is important. I just heard from Mom that Paula got divorced."
Timothy's face froze in an instant. He knew about Paula's situation. He had visited her. Paula was seriously ill, but no one knew the cause. Turned out such a thing happened.
"What exactly happened? he asked seriously.
J let out a deep sigh and recited August's story. "I heard that when Mom and Dad went over, Uncle Burton... Burton was holding another woman." She was so mad that she refused to call Burton uncle. Timothy furrowed his brows and said after a moment of contemplation, "I don't think Burton is that kind of person."
J glared at him. 'Stop exculpating him. He has admitted it. He said that he didn't love Paula anymore."novelbin
What she didn't know was that everyone had misinterpreted it. If they had figured it out, the misunderstanding might have been cleared up. It was a shame that they didn't know the truth.
Timothy frowned. Paula was indispensable in their lives. If it was really the case, he would not forgive Burton.
"I won't see it go on this way," J sulked, "I'm going to question him."
She got up to leave, but Timothy stopped her. "Don't be rash.'
"Don't try to dissuade me. I'll get to the bottom of it."
"You don't even know where he is. Let's find out his location first."
J did her best to calm down. "Okay, find out where he is."
The two children drew up a plan. They were unaware that Hugh was eavesdropping at the door. He frowned. He couldn't let them go to see Burton. He should figure out a way to stop them.
