Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1069

Annie jabbed a finger at Jerry. "Come on, let's see if this is really my problem or not!"

It was a regular weekday, so the entire office floor was deserted, save for Leo. Everyone else was off at work.

Jerry, being a guy, was worried about his aunt's safety while she was around him. He knew Uncle Conner would be out for blood if something happened to her, so Leo tagged along with Annie as a precaution. Once in the hallway, Annie dialed up a colleague. "Hey, Chief Miller, I've got a report for you. There's this flashy guy named Jerry in your area, works in entertainment, and he's been harassing someone to the point it's messing with their life... He's ignored warnings, so maybe a few days in detention will set him straight."

Jerry, standing nearby, whined, "Aw, come on, officer, it's just my job. Cut me some slack, I've learned my lesson.

Leo, arms crossed, couldn't help but smirk. If Uncle Conner saw this scene, he might just chop off Jerry's creepy little fingers.

"If there's another complaint, you'll be looking at at least five days in detention," Annie warned, watching him shuffle into the elevator.

As they headed downstairs, Jerry shot a look at Leo, grumbling, "Leo, I'm just looking out for you, you know."

Once Jerry was gone, Annie and Leo exchanged glances. "Leo, what's going on here?"

Annie hadn't met anyone like Jerry before, and Uncle Conner's influence on her was strong enough to make her shiver at the sight of someone so wishy-washy.

"Auntie, you're something else," Leo chuckled.

Annie had gotten a call earlier, and when she heard Leo call her "Officer Chapman," she knew something was amiss and came over by herself.

In a more serious tone, Annie advised, "Cut the jokes. These folks aren't the best company, keep your distance."

"Got it, thanks, Auntie."

Annie gave Leo's place a quick look. "Alright, I'm off. Call if you need anything."

Leo waved her off and settled back into his routine-shower, then bed.

Just as he got to his bedroom, his partner, who had been MIA, called up. "Chad, what's up?"

"Trying to find out who's been cozying up to my girl."

"Your future brother-in-law!" Anya chirped happily.

Leo burst out laughing, "Already? And no photo for me to check out?"

"Later, Ash isn't with me right now."noveldrama

Leo raised an eyebrow, "Who's Ash?"

"Still your future brother-in-law, James."

Their chat didn't last long because Anya saw the kids return and immediately ditched the phone to scoop up her little brother.

Henry, snuggled in his mom's arms,

felt a twinge of jealousy and reached for baby Ash's swaddle, trying to gnaw on it. Mia quickly redirected his tiny hands, giving him a curious tiger cub toy instead, which she then passed over to his dad.

Busy with work, Andre had to leave early with his family. Anya stayed at the hospital with her mom until she was discharged. With her vacation at an end, Anya reluctantly left the baby behind and headed back to Havenbrook.

Meanwhile, Jerry, knowing Leo's firm stance, was trying to get a hold of Tony. He hoped to get some info there, but Tony, caught up in aeting, rarely checked his phone except during his commute.

Jerry prodded Tony about Leo's girlfriend. Tony, harboring some frustration himself, shot back, "I don't

know, she's just a student."

"Which college?"

"No clue."

"What's her name?" Jerry pressed.

Tony replied, "No idea, Leo always uses her nickname."

Fed up with the lack of details, Jerry slammed his phone down on the desk, muttering, "Hmph, there's no guy I can't handle."
