Chapter 318 Remember the Lesson
Konnor gave a glimpse at Silvia and cleared his throat. He said, “Your grandfather’s death must be thoroughly investigated. It’s just that right now, each of you insisted on your opinion, and it wast difficult to tell which one was the fact at that moment. But don’t worry, since I have taken over the Austin family, I will of course give you the answer.”
Konnor seemed to play a trick. Silvia sneered, “We all understand what you said, but there should be a conclusion to this matter. Grandpa can’t wait to be buried. At least there should be a deadline, right?”
“Why are you in such a hurry? Are you feeling guilty?” Konnor glared at her and asked unhappily.
“We don’t need to argue about it. It doesn’t matter whether I feel guilty or not. The most important thing is the investigation result. I only hope that grandfather would not be dead for no reason,” Silvia was determined, “since the elders in our family are all here today, and Konnor has taken over the Austin family, I believe that he will be able to do something to make others trust him rather than just talk about it. How about three days? Let’s put the deadline on three days later.”
“Three days…”
“In three days, I believe everyone wants to know the final investigation result at that moment.”
“Three days is okay!” before Konnor could say anything, Gordon said, “however, Silvia, you can only stay in the Austin family for the next three days. You can’t go anywhere. To prevent anyone from taking the opportunity to escape, everyone in the Austin family will not be allowed to leave LA in the next three days.”
“What do you think? Zain,” Konnor asked when he looked at Zain arrogantly.
“I agree.” Zain nodded without expression.
It was temporarily settled. Silvia took a deep look at her grandfather’s photo. No matter what happened, she would seek justice and uncover the truth for her grandfather!
The elders went away, and Silvia quickly blocked Zain in front. “Zain, you…”
“Didn’t I tell you not to return?” Zain interrupted her and sighed, “now forget about it. You can stay here for now. You must have been exhausted from the journey back. Take a rest at first.”
Silvia heard his meaningful words and tried to watch others in the house. People were coming and going in the house. It seemed like they were busy, but they seemed to be as careful as spies.
“Alright then. You can come to me whenever you need,” Silvia said and then went outside.
Simon sat in the living room drinking tea calmly and confidently instead of feeling nervous.
Silvia seemed to have sensed something when she walked out. She looked up and ran into Simon’s
eyes. At that moment, Silvia felt relieved as if she had lost her burden.
Silvia walked quickly to Simon and asked, “They didn’t make things difficult for you, did they?”
“I’m the grandson in law of the Austin family. I’m one of your family members. Why would they make things difficult for me?” Simon asked with a smule, “have you greeted your grandfather?”
“Yes,” Silvia nodded and replied, “in the next two days, let’s stay at home first and wait several days before we leave.”
“Alright,” Simon didn’t ask for details and agreed.
The Austin family’s house was still very large. Even all of the elders would be able to live together in its buildings.
Of course, most of the elders lived in the city. Everyone only came to a consensus that they could not leave LA. They were not forbidden to go back home. Therefore, most of the people living in the city still returned to their houses.
Gordon stayed in the main building. After the gossip, the crowd seemed to have calmed down. However, everyone understood that the battle story would soon take place.
Silvia stood by the window and looked outside for a while. Because of the great funeral, the disciples of the Austin family did not practice martial arts. The empty courtyard seemed particularly cold and cheerless. Thinking of the days in the past, Silvia suddenly missed the days when she desperately practiced.
“Although the weather is warm, it will still be cold in dawns and nights.” Simon draped a cloak over Silvia from behind and took the opportunity to pull her into his arms.
Leaning gently in Simon’s arms, Silvia leaned her head back and looked at the scenery outside. “I just feel that many people are cold-hearted, even colder than the winter.”
Simon smiled and turned her body around to face him. He held her hand and gently placed it on his chest. Simon said gently, “But someone may be warm-hearted. My honey is never so pessimistic.”
The sweet words made Silvia blush. She did not move away her hand that Simon held and put it on his body. She felt his hot body warming her a lot.
“You indeed know that they are playing a trick, yet you still accompany me. Now, you are trapped here with me. I’m sorry,” Silvia sighed in a low voice.
Simon’s face got darker. He suddenly leaned down and bit her lips hard. It was not a gentle kiss, but a hard bite with his teeth. Silvia almost lost her breath in pain.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Simon freed her and stared at Silvia. “Remember the lesson. If you talked to me in such a polite way again in the future, you would run into great trouble rather than being taught a lesson.”
Silvia kept silent but was touched.
Simon was so arrogant and warm.
“But the fact is that we are trapped here, and they won’t give me the answer I want,” Silvia said and pursed her lips, feeling a bit nervous.
Just now, she had already seen through it in the mourning hall. What was the crime? Who was the murderer? It was just a trick to seize power from Zain. She could see through it, so Zain naturally understood it as well. However, what she did not understand was why Zain had to obediently give up
his power.
He had been in power in the Austin family for many years, why should he fear a so-called elder who had suddenly returned?
“If they don’t answer us, we can find it out by ourselves!” Simon said indifferently. From his voice, you could not hear any feeling of worry or anxiety.
Silvia found Simon always calm and indifferent whenever he got into any trouble. It was as if everything was under his control. He was calm and confident. Standing beside him, even Silvia calmed down.
“Yes, I can find it out by myself!” Silvia nodded, “but I still want to meet Zain.”
“Do you want to ask him for a reason?” Simon raised his eyebrows and figured out her thoughts.
“Yes. Even if there was any secret that Zain kept from me, I would like to know the reason.”
“Do you want me to go along with you?” Simon asked when he held Silvia’s hand.
“No. Right now, the Austin family is probably full of spies. I don’t know if Zain will tell me the reason or not. Furthermore, I have a feeling that Gordon may come for you.”
“Then I will wait for Gordon,” Simon saw that Silvia was about to leave and reached out to pull her
back, “and wait a minute!”
“What?”
At this time, there was a knock on the door. Simon said aloud, “Come in.”
A servant came in with a plate, and the food served smelt good.
“You must be hungry from the journey. It’s not too late to have something for food.” Simon held her hand and sat down at the table, asking the servant to put the dish down.
Silvia didn’t feel hungry at first, but when Simon reminded her of it, she felt a little hungry.
After putting down the food, the servant went out and closed the door. She turned around and saw that Simon had already started enjoying the dinner. She raised her eyebrows. “Aren’t you afraid that it has been poisoned?”
After all, they witnessed such an accident about poisoning.
Simon looked up and smiled, “If he could solve the problem by poisoning us, why would he set up such a big trap for us?”
