Alexa turned towards Nolan in bed and asked him a question she had been pondering for weeks now, “Nolan, can I ask you something?”

Nolan turned to face her, half expecting a teasing remark or a joke. However, he saw that Alexa was looking at him intently with a serious expression on her face. “Sure, shoot,” he said, returning her gaze.

“How did you find out that you had feelings for me?” she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.

Nolan took a deep breath before answering. “To be honest, I don’t really know,” he said, “I just started feeling something intense whenever I saw you alone with Anthony.”

Alexa raised her eyebrows at this answer, “Intense?” she repeated.

Nolan gave a small nod, “Yes, it was like something inside me was screaming that I should be the one in his place,” he said, feeling disgusted with himself for these emotions.

Nolan sighed heavily, “Because I can’t stand seeing you with anyone else,” he admitted, “It makes me feel like I’ve been missing out on something great.”

Alexa was silent for a moment, digesting what Nolan had just told her. Suddenly, she scooted closer to him on the bed and took his hand in hers. “You know, Nolan, I’ve been struggling with similar feelings myself,” she confessed, “I’ve been wanting to tell you how I feel, but I didn’t know how to broach the subject.”

The surprise on Nolan’s face was evident as he gazed at Alexa, “Really?” he asked,

“What kind of feelings?”

Alexa let out a soft laugh, “The kind of feelings where I can’t shake off the idea of us being together,” she said, “It’s been nagging at me for weeks now, and it’s been driving me crazy.”

Nolan was taken aback by Alexa’s openness, but he felt his heart skip a beat at the same time. “I can’t believe it,” he said, “I thought I was the only one feeling this way.”

Alexa grinned at him, “No, Nolan, you’re not alone. The truth is, I’ve been wanting to be with you for as long as I can remember.”

“I am with Anthony now, so telling you all these is wrong and it’s making me feel guilty,” she said, leaning in to give him a soft kiss on his cheeks.

“Look, I don’t know what’s going on between you and Anthony, but I just want you to know that I care about you. And I don’t want to see you getting hurt.”

Alexa felt her heart melt as she heard Nolan’s words. She had known him for a long time, and she had always admired his kindness and warmth.

“Thank you, Nolan,” Alexa said, feeling her cheeks grow warm. “That means a lot to me.”

As Nolan spoke, Alexa couldn’t help but notice how close he was to her. She felt herself getting lost in his gaze and his deep voice.
