The Alpha’s Little Luna

Rejections

Saphira’s POV

When I carefully open my eyes again, I see a clean white ceiling.

“Hey beauty. You were suddenly gone. What happened?” I hear a voice next to my bed. When I turn my head, I see the Head Warrior I had met when I arrived at the gate. Cleo is his name. I give him a watery smile and try to sit up but my head is spinning.

A woman in white approaches me, helps me sit up and places a pillow on my back.

“I’m Irene, the pack doctor”, she introduces herself. “I’ve examined you and there’s really nothing wrong with your body. You passed out from an acute shock. I gave you a sedative so you could get some rest. So now you should be all right again.” I nod and smile gratefully. She grabs her bag and immediately leaves the room, leaving me with Cleo.

“You passed out when you saw our Beta. I know he is a bit overwhelming sometimes, but for the first time, I saw a woman literally fall at his feet,” jokes Cleo. I blush when I think about my comedown. But then I remember the reason for the shock. My eyes widen and I begin to tremble uncontrollably.

“Where am I now? Who brought me here?” I ask, looking around anxiously.

“Do not be afraid. You are in the packhouse. Beta Jace brought you here when you lost consciousness,” Cleo explains. “You’re safe here, trust me.” I quickly throw off the sheets and try to stand on my feet. The dizziness comes back at times, but after a few attempts, I manage to stand unsteadily on my feet. Cleo presses a cup to my lips.

“Drink something before you do anything. You must have a dry throat.” Indeed, I’m thirsty like hell but that is not my main concern. I need to get out of here ASAP before that Beta enters the room. To avoid unnecessary discussion, I quickly take a few sips and stumble to the door.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Can you take me to my car quickly? I have appointments in my pack and I’m running late already. I have to go back”, I insist in a hoarse voice. I grab Cleo by his shirt and pull him to the door with me.

“Hey, beauty, not so fast. Didn’t you want to talk to your Luna first?” he asks. “I think I know who you are looking for, but you will need a lot of persuasion to get her on board. She is a hard nut.” I happily stare at him now, forgetting all my sorrows at once.

“For real? Then let me speak to her quickly so we can leave,” I insist. We are now at the door, my hand on the knob. I try to pull Cleo out again but he doesn’t really give in.

“But why the rush? The Beta still wants to talk to you, while you were asleep, he quickly canceled his appointments for today. At least you could wait for him for a while,” he states, standing nailed to the ground. He now takes me by the arm to guide me back to the bed and this time it’s me who doesn’t budge.

“No, I’m not interested in speaking to the Beta. Let’s go quickly to my Luna so I can settle things here and leave. I’m in a hurry, Cleo, I have meetings”, I urge him again. Why can’t he understand I don’t want to stay in Midnight Moon any longer than necessary. It remains challenging to get his help to speak to my Luna. We now stare at each other, both aware that we are confused. We both want to go in different directions.

Cleo takes a deep breath and grabs my shoulder.

“Saphira, you know very well that you cannot leave without talking to the Beta. He’s already on his way here,” he finally explains. “Talk to him and he can arrange your meeting with your Luna. By the way, her name is Jasmina, she is our strongest female warrior”.

My eyes widen with joy. Finally, I have a name. Jasmina, the Luna of Silver Moon.

“Cleo, where is my car? I brought her a present. Take me there quickly so I can give it to her.” Enthusiastically, I grab the doorknob again, pulling Cleo. But again, he doesn’t move.

“Why are you waiting? Take me to my car!” I look at him irritated now, this man is blocking all my plans. When I meet my Luna, I want to hand her my present immediately.

Unexpectedly he picks me up and takes me to the bed. After he puts me back on my feet, he looks at me reproachfully.

“Wait here. Everything will be fine, fear not. I’m going to get your present from the car.”

And as we stand there, the door suddenly bursts open.

I almost drown in two sky-blue eyes, the most beautiful I’ve seen in my life. When the blond hunk stands in front of me, I feel it again. My body responds to him as if he were my lifeline, a shiver of anticipation runs through my spine. He is much taller than me, I have to lift my head to look him in the face. And my small stature fades into nothingness before him.

‘MATE,’ Estrella exclaims again, now swooning with love.

And then he takes me in his arms and shoves me against his chest.

“My mate! I’ve waited so long for you, it almost drove me crazy. But now you’re here and I promise to be the best mate in the world to you,” he whispers into my blond locks. When his lips down to mine, I wake up from the intoxication that held me captive.

“No!” I exclaim and struggle out of his arms.

“I, Saphira Kingston from the Silver Moon pack, reject…”. Even before I finish, he plows his lips to mine. It’s like a huge electrical explosion in my body. I grab onto him, my hands go around his neck by themselves.

I respond to his kiss with all the passion in me, like a thirsty man at the last bottle of water…
