The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

Chapter 281: Forcing Her Way out

“We are under attack. All our men are down, requesting back up,"

.when these words sounded, the gunmen around went on alert.

"Stop me if you can," Vivian snorted and continued away.

"Vivian, think about it. If you walk out of this room, you are completely finished!" Mercy shouted.

Vivian couldn't care less about her and walked away.

Vivian walked outside to find bodies littered around. Since she heard no gunshots, she guessed that a sniper took them out.

She walked to the waiting car and got in without care.

Vivian put off her phone the moment she entered the car and through out the drive home. She needed to think.

What was she to do now? Rely on Mathew completely? When she thought of Mercy, what she had done so far and her relationship with the man who killed her father, her blood boiled.

As she stepped out of the car ad went into her home, she was met with Mathew waiting in the kitchen. When he saw he walk in, he looked at her with concern.

When Vivian looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears, feeling utterly defeated. She was not sure what came over her, but when she saw him, she felt the need to cry.

Mathew walked over the moment she stepped into the living room, pulled her into a hug. He held her as she cried.

He wanted to kiss her cheeks, but he restrained himself, she would probably break from his embrace if she noticed.

Instead, he pulled out a chair for her to sit down before offering her a drink.

Vivian sank into the chair, her shoulders slumped with exhaustion. She picked the cool pineapple juice he had offered and took a long sip.

She felt completely defeated that tears filled her eyes.

"Look at me, I will deal with this," he said, and she nodded.

"The 12 guns, the organization, even those who killed your father, I will definitely crush them to dust," he promised, and she nodded. For some reason, she believed him.

She was angry and wanted someone to vent for her. She was not sure what came over her, but she suddenly felt the need to cry even more.

So she did just that. She wailed like a child. The sound of her crying broke Mathew's heart. He wanted to crush everyone that participated in what happened to her.

Mathew watched Vivian with concern as she sat at the kitchen table, her eyes seemed empty and it worried him. How did she get here. It was as though everyone had something against her. And he understood that he had a hand in this too.

He couldn't bear to see her like this, so broken and defeated. He wished he could go back in time and slap himself.

Taking a deep breath, he pulled out the chair opposite her and sat down, determined to offer her whatever comfort and support he could.

"Vivian," he began gently, reaching out to take her hand in his, "there is no need to let anyone suppress you. You know that right? If anyone gets in your way, I will deal with it. You don't need to worry about anything. Just do whatever pleases you, okay?”

Vivian looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears as she suddenly felt the urge to vent. She did not know what came over her as she started complaining to him.

"They pulled guns at me," she sniffed as she talked, "They said they wont let me leave if I don't sign. There was a man there. He looked like I was nothing. He threatened me. They want to kill me," she cried.

Mathew's heart ached at the sight of Vivian's distress, he suddenly felt like he was watching lily complaining after being bullied. "Vivian, don't cry. I will make it go away. They threatened you?" he consoled. The more he consoled her, the more she cried.

"I will make sure they can't come near you,"

Vivian looked at him with defiance. "You better!" she said, her voice trembling as she spoke.

"You better or I will skin you," she threatened. The more she cried the more unreasonable she was being.

"Sure, I won't let them go."

"You have promised you can't go back on it," she insisted.

Looking at her pitiful form, Mathew resisted the urge to plant a kiss between her brows.

"Now what? Does this mean that the organization killed my father?" Vivian asked.

"It looks that way. The man is not only Mercy's relative, he is a Vitale. A dangerous family in Northern Italy. They have ties with the organization," Mathew said.

"They killed him then raised his daughter?" Vivian could not believe this.

"Did they harm you, Vivian?" Mathew asked her, taking her hand, "While growing up there, did they harm you?"

"They put me in an apartment and

trained me to not only take care of my self, but to use weapons and fight. It was as though they were going to send me on missions so traine@well. Over time, they started sending me out. But here were never big things. Never anything where I was sin real danger," Vivian said.

"Because the need you alive. That means from the beginning, they suspected that your father had left something with you. What could your have taken from them that they went this far?" Mathew asked.

"But who says, he took something? What if he just had something they need?" Vivian asked.

Before Mathew could respond, his phone rang, interrupting their conversation. He glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Jerry.

"I'll be right back, Vivian," he said, rising from his seat to take the call.

As he stepped away to answer the phone, Vivian looked her phone that was still switched off and put it away. There was no one to call her, but she still put the phone away to escape. She almost felt like mocking herself as tears that had almost dried flowed again.

"What is it?" he asked Jerry.

"Your home address was just leaked on the underground. They don't seem to know if the rose mansion though," Jerry informed him.

"Who was it?" Mathew asked dangerously.

Mathew and Vivian sat in the quiet of the mansion's library, Vivian was reading and ignoring him. This was now common for her. Mathew did not like being ignored. He had been doing some research on what women liked.novelbin

Glancing at the girl beside him, Mathew turned to Vivian and asked her if she wanted to go shopping.

Vivian paused and stared at him in surprise, her eyes widening in disbelief at the unexpected offer. She wondered if Mathew had finally changed his mind, if he was finally ready to let her out of the house.

For a moment, Vivian hesitated, but

she had stayed inside too long. She did not care what they were going to do. She nodded and he said he would arrange it. She hurried upstairs to change into a dress and hurried back down only to pause at the sight in the living room.

Her excitement quickly turned to confusion as she came face to face with an army of personal shoppers waiting to cater to her every whim.

Racks upon racks of clothes lined the walls, their vibrant colors and luxurious fabrics a stark contrast to the eggshell tones of the mansion's interior.

Vivian's eyes widened in disbelief as

she took in the scene before her, before she cursed at her self for believing his nonsense. She had thought that he was finally ready to

let her out, but instead, she was met with a lavish display of money, the Kind that can only be seen on TV.

Vivian's anger flared hot and bright as she turned to face Mathew, her voice shaking with fury as she struggled to contain her emotions.

"What in the K-drama is this?" Vivian demanded, her words sharp with accusation. "I thought you were taking me shopping, but you brought the shop

here?"
