The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

Chapter 290: A Dramatic Actress

"You are trying to destroy my daughter!" Cecile screamed.

“And you, if you know what id good for you, you should be careful what you say about me. If it is found that I did not steal your daughter's necklace, I will sue you for slander," Elena said.

"Fine, that is enough!" Donald said. He had a feeling that Elena did not take it but knew where it was.

Why did she keep hinting that they should get a private investigator and that they did not know Hannah's character?

He recalled that he had not ended the call with Hannah and put his phone to his ear.

"Hannah, since it is missing, the matter will be given to the police to handle. But if it is found that it was not stolen, it will be on your record. What will you do?" he asked.

"Police? Why did you call the police!?" Hannah screamed, her voice rang from the phone into the room. She was clearly panicked. It was clear to all that had half a brain that Hannah did not want to involve the police.

"Just have her return it, or brother, you replace it and punish her!" Hannah screamed.

Almost everyone could guess that the necklace may not really be stolen. Donald's face darkened. But of course, almost everyone had though this. Cecile still raved like a lunatic.

"Why bother? Police arrest her! Arrest her!" she shouted. Melanie could see that Cecile was getting Hannah in trouble. If this was reported under Hannah's name, she would be destroyed.

Melanie could not help but scoff inside. Donald may be a great man, but the woman that birthed him was very disappointing.

She had always known that Cecile was only using her to get rid of Elena and the moment Elena was gone, she would be the next one.

She had been wondering how to deal with this mother and daughter pair. Now that the opportunity had presented itself, how could she let it go. "Elena, what if you hand back..." Melanie started to say.

"This mistress, you are very loud for a mistress. Others would at least feel shame when they sleep with a married man, but the ink on my divorce paper is not yet dry, you have come to the house with raised shoulders." Her words made Melanie begin to cry.

"Why do you still call me that? This is slander! You are the one who said you will sue for slander, yet you..." Melanie started to say.

"So, you are saying that you and my ex husband are clean and innocent and you will not have anything to do with him, nor are you thinking of marrying him?" Elena said and Melanie went silent.

"If so, all your problems online will be over if you just said this." Elena said and turned away, not waiting for Melanie's reply.

"Thank you officers. I am done with my issue. If they want to have me arrested for theft, please let me know," Elena said to the two officers politely, and started leaving.

Melanie knew she could not possibly say she would not marry Donald. She had waited this long to marry him, so she could only go silent.

But her silence only made those around look at her oddly, so she quickly broke into tears.

She looked to Donald and cried pitifully, "Why does she insist on spreading lies about me to vilify me? If this is how it will be, I prefer to die than to be accused like this," she said and dashed over to slam her head into a wall.

Elena could not help but pause when she heard the sound of Melanie's skull slamming into the wall.

She saw Donald go into full panic mode and noted that Cecile seemed to roll her eyes. This made Elena raise a brow. It seemed that Cecile did not care about Melanie as much at she seemed.

The police hurriedly called the ambulance. They were shocked. They never thought they would see this kind of situation in their life.

Elena had long lost interest and started returning to her room.

"Elena! Where are you going? Hurry and get some ice and help her!" Donald said instinctively.

Every time Melanie got hurt this was how it was. So, the words left this mouth before he could stop himself.

"Are you mad? Why should I help

your mistress? Do you think you are some emperor in ancient times with three wives and thirty concubines? Or you feel you are an old lord that can bring back random women on the streets to for your wife to prepare your wedding suit?" she asked and Donald chocked on his words.

"It is just being a good person!" He found himself screaming at Elena after a while. He was done with her sudden character change. Why was she so unfeeling? Melanie was weak of health.

"What does this have to do with me? Does she feel she is acting a period drama to dash int a wall? Doesn't she know that that method has never killed anyone?" Elena asked.

"One is an actor, the other feels he is an emperor. But what does this have to do with me?" she asked.

"Are you trying to force her to death? Stop it already!" Donald said.

"Have you ever seen a cockroach die so easily?" Elena asked and turned away, marching back to her room, leaving Donald speechless.

She packed her things without care for what was happening in the living room. She had been stupid for this long, she felt embarrassed for herself.

She let a bunch of random people give her a headache this long. She was glad that she was leaving this mad house behind. She could no more deal with this much drama.

In the living room, Cecile watched as Melanie remained unconscious till the ambulance came.

She did not even bother to move to help them. And as the medics placed Melanie in the ambulance she did not care. She watched as her son jumped into the ambulance with Melanie and frowned.

She knew that her son had a soft spot for Melanie because of what happened in the past, but she felt it was too much.

Now that she thought about it, her

former daughter-in-law, though she could not help Donald in his

business, she was at least a good wife and did not fight with her a lot, sometime even letting her save face.

She knew Melanie's character well. The moment she entered the house, she would monopolize her son and make sure herself the victim. Compared to her former

daughter-in-law, if she fought

Melanie, she would loose.

She had only entertained Melanie being around because she was useful in keeping Elena at bay. She admitted that she liked the look of hurt on Elena's face when she did this.

But now that Elena was gone, what was she going to do about Melanie?

Elena walked out of the room with four large boxes and rolled it towards the front door without saying a word to her. This infuriated Cecile greatly. "You better not regret it and come back," Cecile said, "If we ever meet outside, you better not act like we are related."

Elena did not bother to respond. She left this hell hole to never return.
