Chapter 2121
The woman had the quintessential influencer look.
Both of their faces seemed oddly familiar to Thalassa.
After a moment, it clicked, "Richard, Charlotte!"
She blurted out their names without thinking.
Richard, initially puzzled, lit up with recognition upon hearing Thalassa call him, "Thalassa, is that really you? What a coincidence!" Thalassa was momentarily taken aback that he referred to her as Thalassa, but on second thought, it wasn't surprising at all.
Richard and Lysander were close friends, and just because she hadn't seen Richard in a long while didn't mean Lysander hadn't kept in touch.
He probably knew about her marriage to Lysander, which made his greeting sound so natural.
"Yeah, such a small world. You and Ms. Ravensong are here for dinner too?" Thalassa made small talk.
It had been a long time since Thalassa last saw Charlotte, especially after she was forced to break off her engagement with Lysander.
This was their first encounter in three years.
Charlotte wasn't surprised Thalassa still recognized her; after all, she had been Thalassa's fiercest rival for Lysander's affection.
She must have loathed her back then.
No one forgets a nemesis, just as she hadn't forgotten Thalassa.
Charlotte's lips curled into a mocking smile, "I thought you'd abandon Lysander after he became bedridden, but kudos to you for having a shred of decency, silently taking care of him for three years."
That, Charlotte had to admit, was admirable.
If it were her, she wasn't sure she could have persevered.
After the forced breakup, Charlotte was devastated. Under her family's arrangements, she went abroad to study.
Overseas, she learned about Lysander's condition.
Such a bright and perfect man reduced to such a state; it was a pity.
During those three years, Richard
was also abroad on business,
keeping her company. They had only recently returned to their home country together.
"Only someone heartless like you would assume others are the same!" Hertha immediately snapped back, defending Thalassa against o Charlotte's harsh words.
Who did she think she was, talking about Thalassa like that?Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
"You" Miss Charlotte was about to lose her temper.
"Hey, hey, no need for anger. We're all here to enjoy a meal; let's not spoil the mood," Richard quickly intervened, trying to calm Charlotte.
"And you promised me you wouldn't lose your temper so easily," he reminded her.
Charlotte shot Richard a look, huffed, and withdrew her gaze from Hertha, "Fine, for your sake, I'll let it go this time."
"What! You two are together now?" Hertha was so shocked she nearly spit out her drink.
When did Richard and Charlotte become a thing? There hadn't been any signs.
While Hertha was visibly shocked, Thalassa appeared much more composed.
She had sensed something between Richard and Charlotte before, especially the way Richard treated Charlotte. It was clear he had feelings for her.
