The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday

Chapter 330

As the sun set, Ronan escorted Freya back to her apartment.

He had specifically chosen this apartment for Freya. It was not far from Summit University. The place boasted excellent facilities and utmost privacy, ensuring a hassle-free life.

Stepping out of the car, Freya could hardly walk. She had to rely on Ronan's support to reach the apartment building.

She flung her high heels off in frustration, vowing never to torture herself with them again. "Whoever likes them can have them. I've had enough!" "Are they that painful?"

"Are you kidding? Next time, Mr. Beckett, why don't you try strutting in high heels? Plus, I was injured. Walking was sheer agony!"

"Your acting was so convincing. I didn't even notice you were in pain." With that, Ronan checked the injury on the back of Freya's hand.

Kieran seemed hell-bent on proving Susan was Freya, squeezing her hand with all his might during their handshake, hoping to elicit a pained reaction.

But Freya didn't give him the satisfaction, even though her hand was reddening, and she didn't utter a peep.

"Shame, it almost healed. Now we'll have to apply more ointment."

"Where did you keep the ointment? I'll get it for you."

"No need. I've run out." Freya looked at her reddened hand and went to the bathroom to remove all the foundation and the flesh-colored silicone hiding her wounds, exposing them fully to the air.

She sighed, feeling the sting in her

hand. "Kieran must have spent a fortune on that ointment. It worked wonders initially, so I used it

whenever I was in pain. But it ran out quickly, and now, I can't get it

anywhere."

Freya remembered the ointment specially formulated by international experts at Kieran's request and tailored to her injuries. At first, the results were remarkable, but the efficacy seemed to diminish with frequent use.

No longer in contact with Kieran, she was too proud to ask him for more, preferring to endure the pain than showing weakness.

"I'll call my private doctor to check your injuries tomorrow. If it's serious, you might need to go to the hospital. How will you manage your exams otherwise?"Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Ronan added, "Just a heads up. The Summit University exam this time is quite tough. You might struggle to pass."

Seeing Ronan doubt her abilities, Freya retorted, "Just watch, Mr. Beckett. I'll surprise you with my results." Ronan's eyebrow shot up, clearly intrigued. "Alright, you've got my attention. Let's see this big surprise of yours." "The biggest surprise you'll ever get!"

After Ronan left, Freya quickly removed her makeup and lay on her plush bed, reflecting on her day. She had never been fond of makeup, and her skills were mediocre.

Applying makeup was never about achieving perfection for her. Today, however, thanks to the top-notch makeup artist Ronan had arranged, she discovered a new side of herself she hadn't known existed.
