Chapter 133 Just Buy Everything To Comfort Her
Chapter 133 Just Buy Everything To Comfort Her
She was enraged, telling from the way she talked.
Joseph Beckham was confused and asked, “Who pissed you off?”
Saying about this, Hayden Downey blew her top, “Who’s pissing on me? Who…”
She was about to say something, but when she looked at that blank face on Joseph, she gritted her
teeth and just said, “No one. I’m tired.”
“Stay for the night if you’re tired. I’ll send you back tomorrow morning.”
Hayden was furious as she stuffed all her clothes, together with the hanger, into her luggage bag, “No
thanks. I’m going now. I have to get back to look at the kid.”
“I’ll give you a ride.”
“I have my car.”
Hayden had been borrowing Alayna Cole’s car for the past two days. She could finally return it to her
tonight.
After finished talking, she closed her suitcase, pulled out the handle, and went on. Her movements
were neat and deft. The sound of the trolley wheel spinning was getting softer in the corridor. Joseph
stood at the door, felt perplexed as he watched her leave.
…
“So, he just let you go like this? It’s late already, and didn’t he give you a ride?”
“I’ve said I didn’t need it.”
“So he didn’t give you a ride just because you didn’t want him to!”
Alayna applied a facial mask while listening to Hayden roasting the whole incident when she got back.
Alayna blew a gasket, slapping on the table, and said, “Trust no man, fear no bitch. Kevin Jackman,
that son of a bitch, is no good at all. And how would you think about his childhood friend too? I’ve
barked up the wrong tree for trusting Joseph Beckham.”
“It’s not a matter of whether he gives me a ride or not. It’s that why do Viola Kidman accompany him for This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
taking Noah to see a doctor abroad? He didn’t even tell me about it. What’s wrong with telling me about
it? I’m not such a narrow-minded person. What can I do to stop it if this is something that requires his
ex’s help?”
Hayden was foaming at the mouth.
“This is what you saw. Imagine those that you didn’t!” Alayna even poured fuel on the fire and added,
“Had you ever seen Viola helping Joseph with his tie? It’s something so ambiguous! And it was even at
the hotel entrance. Isn’t she digging up the hatchet against you?”
“They didn’t know that I was there.”
“That’s warring against you too! The receptionist should have seen it. And Joseph’s assistant must
have known it too. All of them are hiding from you. This is going too far. It’s so humiliating.”
“It’s not that serious!” Hayden hesitated, feeling that Alayna had exaggerated about this.
“Listen to me. Never try to care about him for this moment. Men are such a pussy. Let him reflect on
himself. And let him admit his fault to you.”
“Admit his fault?” Hayden curled her lips, “Joseph is not like Kevin. I think that’s a no way for him.”
Alayna frowned and disagreed, “Men need to be trained. Take my word for it!”
The two besties were in full swing discussing their men having affairs. On the other side, the men were
chatting at a remote tavern.
Joseph described Hayden as being unhappy in just a few words.
“Done?” Kevin Jackman spread his arms, “You’re saying that she’s angry and not telling me any
reason. How can I give you some advice?”
“Perhaps, it’s because I’m home late this time.”
Joseph frowned, feeling puzzled, “She’s mad because I left the reception to her alone.”
“Impossible.”
Kevin waved his hand, rejecting this possibility, “Women are very fond of being entrusted by men. So
this wouldn’t be the reason. In my opinion, the main reason for women to get very mad is their
boyfriends’ ex.”
“You overthink it.” Joseph glanced at Kevin in a calm face, “That would be unlikely. I’ve cleared up the
matter between Viola and I.”
“How about the other one?” Kevin swirled the wine in his hand and directed Joseph a meaningful look,
“Did you mention about her before? Maybe she had spotted something in your home?”
Talking about this, Joseph gave him some cut eye.
Kevin coughed, “Forget I said anything. Ahem. Since that’s not the reason, then it would be another
reason.”
“What’s the reason?”
“There’s a lot of reasons for a woman to get angry daily. Who knows if she got upset about trivial
things. But they’re easy to comfort.”
“For example?”
“Just buy anything will do. Purse, jewellery, clothes, cosmetics, anything will do.”
“That’s simple.”
Joseph nodded thoughtfully and drank up the wine. He put down the glass and stood up, “It’s late. I’m
going back.”
“Huh?” Kevin glared at him and exclaimed, “How could you, burning my bridge and leaving me alone
here in the night?”
“Do you still find the night boring?” Joseph swept a glance at him, “Didn’t you just open a new bar?
Bored of it already?”
“Don’t mention it.” Kevin felt bitter, “Alayna fell out with me the past few days because of this matter.
She would break up with me if I step into that bar again.”
“Isn’t this what you want?”
“I’m serious this time.”
“You’re serious all the time.” Joseph looked serious gradually, “Alayna is my friend. Try not to make
things look too bad.”
“Come on. I’ve told you, and you still don’t believe me. We’re buddies for so many years.” Kevin waved
his hand at Joseph, “Just leave already. Don’t mess with me.”
Joseph was calm as he took his jacket. He patted Kevin on the shoulder before leaving, “I heard that
there’s a lot of people hitting on Alayna.”
Kevin froze for a moment, and he came to his senses after Joseph had left. He yelled at Joseph, “Hey,
why didn’t you make it clear to me? Who’s hitting on her? How did you get to know about it? Are they
from the hotel? Who dares to steal my girl? Is it your assistant, Magnus James, that brat!”
Joseph was speechless.
The next morning, Hayden was still sleeping on her bed when being woken up by the loud exclamation
coming from the living room.
“Wow! Joseph, are these all presents from you?”
Stella Downey was staring with her eyes sparkling at Joseph’s assistant, Magnus James, coming in
with a large bag of luxury goods at the porch.
“Mr. Beckham, there’s still some in the car. I’ll go back for it.”
Hayden’s hair was still messy as she cracked the door open. She saw Stella behaving spineless,
hugging Joseph’s neck while buttering him up for giving her a box of chocolates.
“Joseph, are you here especially to give these presents to mommy? Why isn’t Noah here?”
“Noah is still at home getting over jet lag.” Joseph glanced at the bedroom, “Is your mommy still
sleeping?”
“Yes. I’ll get mommy up to go grocery shopping. Please stay for dinner!”
