Immersing herself in a few moments of pondering, Hayden said, “Actually, it’s ok if you want to tell me

later.”

In the mellow lights, Benjamin saw her smile. It’s filled with care and as warm as it has always been.

“You already knew?” he asked.

Hayden shook her head, “not the details. I just know that you probably remember your past.”

“Then why are you still…”

“Still pretending that I don’t know anything?”

Hayden sighed, “after all, I hit you. When I took you to hospital, you were in rags. I thought you were a

tramp. Besides, you would’ve long left if you want to. I guess you have some secret that you don’t want

to tell about.”

never made a call to offer any help.

Edison’s voice was teasing on the phone.

“It’s supposed to be yours, though there were a few hitches in the process. Among all the favors I’ve

offered you, this really doesn’t worth a thank-you call.”

“Well, a thank you can’t express my gratitude for those huge favors, but little ones.” Hayden said, “But

actually, I have something else that I have to talk to you about.”

“About the lawyer?”

“How do you know?”Hayden was surprised.

“Heard you got back together with Joseph.” His voice was flat, “So I assume that we could drop the

charge for now.”

“I just can’t have any secret from you.” Hayden felt kind of awkward, “but this time I really don’t have a

choice. I don’t want him to find out about me and Noah too soon. So that’ll be it, we can talk about the

rest later.”

“Not this time.” Edison sounded serious, “you two break up, get back together, split, and then unite

again. Mean no offense, but I don’t think your relationship would stay great. You have to give yourself

way. Let’s say if one day you two were completely over, would you be willing to give away Noah’s

custody?”

“No.”

“Then listen. The lawyer is in the country now. Make some time to meet him, talk him through the

situation and some basic information. At least you should be fully prepared, it won’t do you any bad.”

A long distance away, Edison sighed as he watched his phone screen dimmed.

When you love someone more than you love yourself, her happiness is everything to you. He could

watch her laughing happily with another man, or be alone to death. But he could not abide that the man

she chose gave her happiness only for moment while constantly putting her in potential danger.

He would give her way out if she didn’t give herself one.

Hayden, along with her assistant, went to Joann Group and signed the contract with Mr. Wright
