The Cursed Wolf’s Love

The urge to kiss her

Lucas could see his downfall in front of his eyes. That all happened because of his daughter, Iris. His blood boiled, but he could not either speak up in front of Adolphus.

Soon, his son, Darius, and his second daughter, Frida, came to the drawing room with their mother. Audelia stood next to her husband and wondered what he would do.

Both Darius and Frida greeted the Crown Prince, who ignored them.

Adolphus gazed at Iris and asked, “I was thinking to give a death sentence to Darius. He touched you inappropriately.”

Everyone was stunned to hear that. Audelia quickly got on her knees and begged Adolphus not to punish her son for no reason.

“Your voice is annoying. Don’t make me kill you right here. Stop pleading with me,” Adolphus’s words intimidated that family.

On the other hand, Iris didn’t expect that Adolphus would act in such a way. However, Darius deserved such a punishment. So, she didn’t oppose the Crown Prince and let him do whatever he felt was right.

Darius gazed at Iris. “What is this, Iris? How could you accuse me? Why would I touch you? Iris is lying, Your Royal Highness,” he told a white lie.

Anthony knew the Crown Prince’s anger and was also aware of how much he hated the lies. “Darius Vinsant should not lie,” he advised him.

“Why would I lie?” Darius chuckled and glared at Iris. “We gave you everything and you are…” Before he could finish off his sentence, like a flash of light, Adolphus appeared before him and grabbed his neck.

Darius felt his windpipe squeeze which made him unable to breathe. His veins popped out when Audelia and Frida rushed to him to stop him. Lucas asked Iris to stop the Crown Prince because if he killed a human, he would have to answer many people.

“How dare you touch her and then lie on my face?” Adolphus growled at him and his eyes turned green.

Iris got worried as he heard Lucas’s words. She approached Adolphus and asked him not to do that. She placed her hands on his hand, trying to pull away his grip from Darius’ neck. Finally, Adolphus let Darius’ neck go, which relieved everyone.

“Throw him into the prison,” Adolphus ordered Anthony, who bowed and asked the soldiers to take Darius away.

Lucas told Adolphus not to do this. “I will take this matter to the King if the Crown Prince does this. He is accusing my son for no reason. This isn’t the way the relationship of humans and werewolves be maintained,” he objected.

“Such threats don’t work on me,” Adolphus pronounced and continued, “Drag all of them to the prison. Lock them separately and don’t give them water or food till evening.”

Adolphus turned to the door and told Iris to follow him.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Iris gazed at her father, who told her not to do this with them.

“You all deserve this, especially you. You betrayed my mother and me,” Iris stated and walked out of the drawing room.

She saw Adolphus had banged the carriage’s door. It clearly showed the intensity of his anger toward them.

“Get in,” Adolphus ordered Iris after he opened the window.

She opened the carriage’s door and stepped in. Sitting across from him, Iris asked the Crown Prince not to be furious.

“I want to kill all of them for hurting you. I saw the wounds, the scars on your body. Because they are the humans, I could not do that,” Adolphus said, explaining to her the reason behind his fury.

“His Royal Highness did more than enough for me. In his position, no one would have ever helped me. I am a mere servant while he is the Crown Prince,” Iris stated with a tiny smile on her lips. She lowered her head and fiddled with her fingers.

“I have never thought that there would be a single person, who would one day understand my pain and punish those who hurt me. This is all a dream to me,” Iris stated and expressed her gratitude toward him.

Before Adolphus could speak to her, Anthony knocked on the carriage’s door. The Crown Prince opened the door and Anthony informed him that the Vinsant family would be taken to the city’s prison house. Later, they would be shifted to the chief prison in the palace.

Adolphus nodded and said, “Take the soldiers with you.” He closed the window while Anthony asked the coachman to drive the carriage to the palace. The carriage moved and they left for the palace again. Anthony, on the other hand, had left in the other carriage while taking away Vinsant’s family with him.

However, suddenly the weather acted strange and in the mid of the palace route, torrential rain started pouring down. The coachman was unable to move the carriage. The dark weather had scared Iris.

“Is there any nearby place here to stay?” Iris inquired and turned to Adolphus when the carriage’s door opened. The coachman bowed to the Crown Prince and told him they had to stay at the rest house which was within walking distance from them.

“Let’s go there,” Adolphus said and quickly got out of the carriage. He put on the black cloak’s hood above his head and extended his hand out for Iris. She quickly grabbed it and got out of the carriage.

Adolphus pulled her inside his large cloak and placed his arm tightly on her waist. He instructed the coachman to free the horses and they headed to the nearby rest house.

Within twenty minutes, they reached the rest house. Adolphus booked two rooms one for him and Iris and while other for the coachman.

As soon as Iris stepped into the room with Adolphus, she moved away and looked at her dress which was wet from the bottom. Her hair was also slightly wet and so were her sleeves. She removed her shoes and turned to Adolphus.

“Let me help Master,” Iris said and saw him remove the cloak.

“I will do it,” Adolphus said and asked her to sit on the chair. He removed the waistcoat and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt.

However, Iris didn’t sit. Instead, she moved closer to Adolphus after taking out a handkerchief from the pocket of her dress. Adolphus’ face was drenched in water and even his hair was wet. She dabbed the handkerchief on his face gently.

Because Adolphus was quite tall, she had to lift herself on her toes. He noticed it and slightly lowered his head. His eyes lingered on her lips and he felt the urge to kiss her.

Iris’s fingers touched his skin, which she didn’t realize. However, for Adolphus, that touch was a fire. He caught her wrist, and she peered at him with inquisitiveness.

“Did I do something wrong, Master?” Iris asked.

“No,” Adolphus promptly replied.

“Then?” Iris was confused why he grasped his wrist.

Adolphus could not kiss her since it would seem to her as harassment. He took the handkerchief from her and started wiping the water from her face. “I don’t want you to get sick,” he said.

Iris’ heart fluttered, and she curled her fingers.
