Frank nodded. "You're right, debts must be paid-so tell me, how much does she owe?"

"Five hundred grand!"

The burly men were left trading glances, and the bald leader asked, "Wait, are you paying for her?"

"Isn't that obvious?" Frank asked in return, having taken out his phone.

"Good, as long as someone pays up!"

The bald leader gave Frank an account number, and he wired the money without another word.

Seeing the notification of the transfer, the bald leader was suddenly fawning all over Frank. "The name's Caleb Godot. I have some influence around these parts, and I'm what you call a financier. Just call me anytime you need some cash!"

He even offered Frank a business card and did not push his luck although Frank did not take it, then left his thugs.

Nheless, Frank's generosity surprised the old woman in the house, and she quickly opened the door for him when she saw that the bald man and the thugs were gone.

"You're such a good egg, boy! Come on in!" she greeted him warmly.

She poured them tea after they went in and took their seats, asking gingerly, "What's your relationship with Luis Tucker, boy?"

Frank lied, "We're relatives. I came to find out what he's doing these days."

"Oh, so that's why!" The old woman realized with a start. "That explains why you have that money too. Luis was the one who took that loan—I was just his guarantor! But that brat ended up bailing, while I got screwed over. I'd really rather not talk about him if I can!"

Frank nodded. "That's understandable. But I don't know where he is now... could you help me reach out to him?"

The old woman shook her head. "He disappeared after those loan sharks started coming, and I don't know where he is... but I remember hearing some noise next door couple of days ago, when I was just coming back. I didn't go in for a look, but I bet Luis sneaked back inside."

"Understood. Thank you so much!"

With that, Frank left with Lara and headed to Chandlerton.

There, they found Whitney Chandler, who was just munching on some sweets outside her mansion.

She was grinning ear-to-ear when she saw Frank. "Hey, handsome! I thought you'd forgotten all about me!"

Her joy was short-lived, however, as she was left staring at the lofty beauty who aligned as well.

Whitney was certainly left fuming-how lucky could Frank be with a woman? It had only been days since they had last met, and he had a new girl already!

"She's my colleague," Frank

explained. "I can't bring her running around with me since I have things to do. Would you mind letting her stay at your place for a while?"

Whitney was jealous, but since Lara was with Frank, she decided she really should not get all hostile. Nodding, she said, "Just leave her to me. Don't worry!"

Frank smiled and nodded before getting into the Range Rover and driving to the apartment. He sneaked upstairs into Luis' unit, hid in a corner, and quietly returned for his return.

He had to wait until two in the morning when he heard rushed breathing and quietly strode over.

It was pitch-black inside, so the man did not see Frank.

And it was by the time he felt Frank catching him by the wrist!

Startled, he exclaimed, "Who are you?!"
