Burning Determination
“We’re with you every step of the way, Anisa. Your mother’s legacy will guide us, and justice will be served.”
“Guys I think we have something that we could use to expose Ramos and Don Rizzo’s crimes.” Alejandro said, coming out of a room to meet the team.
“Really?” Alfredo asked.
“What have you found?” Raven asked.
“Anisa…. before your mother died, she found something and I think, Ramos didn’t want her getting away with it so he had his men chase after her.” Alejandro said.
“What are you talking about?” Anisa asked.
Alejandro continued, “Your mother had discovered some important information, Anisa. She managed to gather evidence that could expose Ramos and Don Rizzo’s crimes. It’s a potential game-changer.”
Anisa’s eyes widened with hope, her grief momentarily pushed aside.
“Tell me more, Alejandro. What did my mother find?”
Alejandro took a deep breath and explained, “Your mother had uncovered financial records and documents that link Ramos and Don Rizzo to illegal activities, money laundering, and corruption. These documents are like a hidden trail of their crimes.”
Alfredo leaned in, his eyes filled with determination.
“With this evidence, we can expose them to the authorities and the public. It could bring them down.”RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Raven nodded, her expression serious.
“This is exactly what we needed, Anisa. With this evidence, we can turn the tables on them.”
Anisa felt a surge of hope and determination.
“We have to secure those documents and make sure they can’t cover it up. My mother’s sacrifice won’t be in vain.”
Alejandro nodded in agreement.
“We have a plan to retrieve the documents, but we must act carefully and swiftly. Time is of the essence.”
Anisa clenched her fists.
“Let’s do it. For my mother and for justice.” Anisa said.
“Also…. your mother sent you a video, I guess she knew something might happen to her, but she did it anyway.” Alejandro said.
“What video?” Anisa asked.
Alejandro walked up to Anisa and gave her the phone to see.
“It’s the video of her death and your father did kill your mother.”
Anisa staggered at his words. She was hoping that it wasn’t true. That it wasn’t her father that killed her mother.
Anisa took the phone, her hands trembling as she watched the video. The truth was painful, and tears welled up in her eyes as she saw her mother’s final moments.
In the video, her mother’s voice was filled with determination as she spoke about the evidence she had gathered. Then, the video took a dark turn as a shadowy figure emerged, and the camera fell to the ground, capturing only chilling sounds.
Anisa’s voice quivered as she asked, “Is that… my father?”
Alejandro nodded solemnly.
“Yes, Anisa. It’s him. He killed your mother.”
Raven placed a comforting hand on Anisa’s shoulder, her own expression filled with anger and resolve.
“We now have concrete evidence of his crime. We’ll use this video to expose him and bring him to justice.”
Anisa wiped away her tears, her grief replaced by a burning determination.
“My mother’s sacrifice won’t be in vain. We’ll make sure he pays for what he’s done.”
“So what are we gonna go now?” Alfonso asked.
“What we did before, we expose more of their crimes and expose this video to the world to see, and cancel the police report that Anisa’s death was suicide we all know that it wasn’t and we have enough evidence to reveal that it wasn’t.” Alejandro said.
“So once this video goes online, the police would have to arrest my father right?” Anisa asked.
“Yes, he was seen in the video strangling your mother. So how can it be suicide. The public would ask that the police performs an autopsy to verify our claim.” Raven said.
“But guys, don’t you think, if we expose this video online, Ramos could have someone in the morgue get rid of your mother’s body to cover up his crime and that would render our video useless don’t you think?” Alfredo asked.
“Hmmm…. I think you’re right.” Alejandro said.
“So we need to go over to the morgue and secure, Anisa’s mother’s body and do the autopsy ourselves after all we have one of her guardian here with us so she could fill the consent form so that we won’t be charge for it.” Alfredo said.
“But how do we even get there?” Raven asked.
“As far as we know it, Almino might be on to us and any wrong move, could expose our location.”
“That’s why we would not all go. Raven, Alejandro and Anisa should go while Alfonso and I would stay behind as back up incase anything goes wrong.” Alfredo said.
“So what’s the plan exactly?” Raven asked.
Alejandro explained the plan to the team in simple terms.
“Anisa, Raven, and I will go to the morgue to secure your mother’s body and request an autopsy.
We’ll use her guardian’s consent form to do it legally. Meanwhile, Alfonso and Alfredo will stay here as backup in case anything goes wrong.”
Raven nodded, seeking clarification. “And how do we get there without being detected?”
Alfredo chimed in, “We’ve got a safe route mapped out. We’ll use our contacts to ensure a low profile. Anisa, you’ll be in disguise, just in case.”
Anisa took a deep breath, ready to take action.
“Let’s do it. We can’t waste any more time. My mother deserves justice.”
So the three left their hideout and went through the safe route Alfredo mapped out. They saw a vehicle packed close to a diner and entered and drove to the morgue.
“What if my father expect that I would request for an autopsy for my mother?” Anisa asked.
“That’s why we are gonna steal the body of your mother and take it somewhere else where we can fill a consent form for a proper autopsy report.” Raven said.
“Once we have that, we can send the video online and the report claiming that your mother didn’t kill herself, but she was murdered by Ramos Escobar to cover his crimes.
Then we expose other documents and files of their other crimes.” Alejandro said.
“What if the morgue is heavily guarded? How do we get pass the guards?” Anisa asked.
“Because if my father is doing the best he can to cover up his crimes, he would do anything to protect my mother’s body until she’s buried.”
“He won’t have her buried, Anisa. He would have her crememated.” Alejandro revealed.
“He would have my mother cremated without telling me and my brother? He can do that.” Anisa said.
“Actually, he can. He’s her legal guardian.” Alejandro said.
Anisa felt a surge of anger and frustration at the thought of her father having the authority to cremate her mother without their knowledge.
“That’s just heartless,” she muttered.
Raven spoke up, her tone determined. “We won’t let that happen, Anisa. We’re here to make sure your mother gets the justice she deserves.”
As they approached the morgue, Alejandro gave them a quick rundown of the plan.
“We’ll need to be discreet. I have some contacts here who can help us get past any guards. Anisa, you’ll stay in the vehicle until we secure your mother’s body.”
Anisa nodded, feeling a mixture of fear and determination. She knew they were risking a lot to expose the truth, but she also knew it was the right thing to do.
The team arrived at the morgue, and Alejandro made a call to his contacts. They parked near the morgue, hidden from view.
Anisa stayed in the vehicle, her heart pounding with worry. She couldn’t help but think about the danger they were in and the risks they were taking to uncover the truth about her mother’s death.
Raven and Alejandro slipped out of the car, moving quietly and swiftly towards the morgue’s entrance. They were determined to secure the evidence they needed to expose Ramos and Don Rizzo’s crimes once and for all.
