Chapter seven
Alessandro
As the sun rises, its golden rays paint the sky in a breathtaking display of colors. The air is still, carrying a gentle warmth that wraps around you like a cozy blanket. You can hear the sweet melodies of birds singing their morning songs, filling the air with joy and calmness.
I was standing staring at the sky when suddenly I got a glimpse of a feminine figure in my garden. Just like always, she is dressed in a white flowy gown with long blonde curly hair. This is my third time seeing her standing beside the waterfall in my garden and she looks beautiful. Her smile stones the place, giving the garden alive with the buzzing of bees and the fluttering of butterflies.
Though there is something about her, despite the cheeky smile on her face, her eyes look dull like something is bothering her. I have never been concerned about anybody since my existence but there is this uncontrollable pull I feel toward her. It is hard controlling Dante, my inner beast around this figure, and that simple action makes me understand something……. She is the one!! My bloodmate.
But the issue is that despite several encounters with her, anytime I try to walk up to her, she disappears but today I am determined to touch her and have her stare at me. I started walking toward her from where I was standing, she was smiling, her back facing me. Almost closer to her but before I could touch her……….
“King Alessandro,”
“King Alessandro!”
At the second call, I instantly snapped my eyes open, my hand that I had stretched earlier to touch the girl hanging in the air. “Another dream…..” I groaned mentally and brought down my hand, a lot of migraines strongly shooting through my head.
Unintentionally, my eyes fell on the green duvet in my body and immediately those luminous green spheres came into my mind. I have never seen those captivating green eyes in my life before, it is just like the deep color of the grasses.
“King Alessandro,”
I ignored the call and frowned at my own thoughts. Who is she and why do I always see her in my dreams only? I growled and flared my nostril in frustration but then my cold gaze fell on the intruder as he was about to call for my attention again. Under my murderous gaze, the guard instantly swallowed the rest of his unsaid words.
“What??” I scowled, sounding irritated.
“King Alessa…..
“Speak!!” I snapped. My face contorted into a chilling scowl with my eyes narrowed in an icy fury, radiating anger and disdain.
“I am sorry for. disturbing. but…..” He kept stuttering with his eyes widened in fear. His brows furrowed, and his mouth quivered in terror.
And this caused a sudden irritation to surge within me as I felt his tension and uneasiness. I couldn’t help but growl in frustration, causing anger to coursed through my veins like molten rays. This guy right here was the sole reason I couldn’t reach out and touch that captivating being in my dream!
Still standing there, struggling with his words. I felt a surge of adrenaline rush through me and in a split second, I leaped out of the bed and, with lightning speed, wrapped my hand around his neck. It was as if something was awakening inside me, Dante! The uncontrollable bloodsucking beast.
My lips flared up in disgust, causing a terrifying sob to sneak out of his mouth. He was gradually choking to death when suddenly the door was pushed open and Luca Russo, my best friend and second in command, walked inside.
“Hey, buddy,” his gaze trailed on the weak servant in my arms, that his life was almost standing on a thread before it refocused back to me. He chuckled, “You naughty head, you left the gang to sleep early, only to have a hmmm night with her,” His taunt hit me hard, causing my head to snap towards him.
“What are you talking about?”
He narrowed his gaze on me naughtily, “I bumped into Sofia Moretti on my way here and I am sure she was coming out from here,”
I gave him a fierce glare as soon as the words escaped his lips. Sofia is my buddy and more like a sister to me but last night….. I was still thinking when the servant on my hold interrupted us while opening his mouth to speak, his hand pointing toward the door.
“You see I wasn’t lying, he saw her too, right?” Luca chuckled, earning a murderous glare from me.
“Hmm….. She…. Was,” I turned to stare at the stuttering servant, “I came to inform you that she was at the door,” he finished in one go with a cough.
That’s when the realization hit me, so he came to inform me about Sofia, yeah… I remember telling her to come this morning. I turn my head sharply toward him, but is that hard for him to say? Why act all timid like a sick chicken in front of me? Looking at him, my grip slowly loosened and I pushed him away. He fell to the ground coughing while holding his neck.
Glancing at him, I ordered in a clipped tone, “Get out,” leaving no room for interruption. He quickly stood up and dashed out, bumping into Marco, one of my subordinates who was about to enter inside the room.
So sorry, gamma,” the trembling servant was quick to apologize with his head bow, not ready to meet the murderous look on Marco’s face.
“Hey, what’s up?” Luca called, pulling his attention away from the scene. He slowly walked up to us snubbing the servant who immediately fled out of the room in one go. I watched Marco stride forward, standing in front of me he then placed a document filled with names on the bed beside where I was sitting. We both stare at the file and then back at him, anticipating for explanation.
“Can you all explain when you choose to interrupt my peace by this time of the day,” I asked when staring at the file on my bed and then back to them.
“Alessandro, the deal has been sealed. I have talked with the breeders in America, and they were interested in the business,” Marco’s lumpy voice echoed through the room, his words sinking in.
“What?” I asked, my brow twitching up in confusion.
“After the attack at the moonlight pack, we abducted a girl from there,” Marco said and without letting me say a word, he added. “She will make a good fortune, I bet you should see her,”
“A she-wolf?” Luca asked drowsily.
“Yeah, and believe me immediately I saw her, I know that she could make a fortune…….” Marco’s remark continued as he kept explaining.
On a normal day, I could have signed and said that is none of my business! Despite being into this trafficking game, I hardly have the chance for those good-for-nothing servants out there who were trapped inside that spooky old-looking building. How they got sold is none of my business, I have Lucas and most especially Marco handle that. The income that fetches out from them is my only concern but I couldn’t say the same now; for some strange reason, Dante wanted to see the new servant, and well something about her interested me which I found weird.
I cleared my throat severally, in as much as I wanted to see her instantly but I didn’t want my beta and gamma to find it suspicious because that is unlike me. “How was the attack…… were you people able to end those dogs?” I asked, trying as much as possible to keep my voice firm though the irritation in my voice was palpable. I tried to change the topic, and fucking pull my attention away from her.
“No….. They escaped,” Marco muttered, his voice now a bit low. He went with some of the warriors, Luca stood back to take care of the clan while I left for a business meeting in the human world.
“How is that possible!!!” I banged my hand furiously at the side table beside my bed in anger. “It was an unexpected attack so tell me how they were able to escape?” I growled, feeling disappointed in him.
He cleared his throat for a while before he spoke again after several hesitations, “They seemed to have a hideout somewhere around there, and remember we couldn’t know since we are not from there,” He said, searching for a more convincing explanation for his unsuccessful mission.
“Damn it!!! I can never live among those damn dogs!” I snapped, shooting him a fierce glare. “Why the hell didn’t you guys track down their hideout and wipe them all out before coming back? I’m not buying your endless excuses!” I growled furiously, banging my hand on the bed again.
Luca, who had been oddly quiet, suddenly chimed in, sensing the fear in Marco’s eyes. “What about the she-wolf? I bet she knows where their hideout is!”
And that’s when I sharply turned my gaze back to Marco, my eyes narrowed. “Did you guys even bother to question her?”
He glanced at me and then at Luca, his silence driving me crazy. “Say something,” I snapped, frustration evident in my voice.
He shook his head and replied, “She said she has no clue.”
“Damn it!!” I exclaimed, slamming my fist against my palm in frustration.
“Not possible,” Luca murmured.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
However, I could feel the anger boiling inside me as I slowly stood up, my eyes locked on Marco. His uneasy movements only added to my irritation. “You better get me that she-wolf right now in my damn presence!!” I loudly exclaimed, my voice filled with exasperation.
