The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 555

The loud crash finally drew the attention of others. The door that had kept Noelle trapped for an entire day was finally opened.

It was only then that Noelle realized Hendrix had known all along how to get out, but he had chosen not to do anything until now.

She couldn't help but frown. When she turned to look at him, he was already putting on his coat. He didn't look at her or say another word. He simply walked out after slipping on his coat.

Erwin, who had heard of the commotion, was standing at the door, watching them with curiosity. When his eyes met Noelle's, he even grinned and greeted her.

Noelle ignored him and turned to leave in the opposite direction.

Erwin raised an eyebrow, then quickly caught up to Hendrix. "What happened? Didn't you two... you know? You should have. I did go through all that trouble to create the perfect opportunity for you after all."

As he spoke, he frowned and looked at Hendrix with frustration.

"Gee, thanks," Hendrix said, but his tone was dismissive.

Erwin's frown deepened.

"But you don't need to do this kind of thing anymore," Hendrix added.

Erwin finally realized Hendrix was criticizing him. He let out a cold laugh and said, "You think I enjoy meddling in your business? I came here for a vacation, but instead, I got dragged into your drama."

His voice was tinged with irritation, but Hendrix didn't respond. He just kept walking.

Erwin, unable to hold back, quickened his pace and asked, "So? Did you two—"noveldrama

"Nothing will ever happen between me and her anymore," Hendrix said. "So, you don't need to do anything unnecessary from now on."

Unnecessary?

Erwin laughed out of frustration. "If it weren't for the fact that you were half-dead with fever yesterday, do you think I'd bother?"

Hendrix didn't answer. It was clear he didn't even want to mention Noelle's name. He stepped into the elevator without another word.

He had only come here on a whim, and his trip had been so rushed that he hadn't even brought a suitcase. But that also meant he could leave without any baggage-both literal and emotional.

Before leaving, Hendrix turned around and gave the hotel one last look. He clenched his hand briefly, but in the end, he lowered his gaze and got into the car.

Meanwhile, when Noelle returned to her room, she was surprised to find Dylan there.

He had clearly been up all night and was sitting quietly on the couch at that moment. But for some reason,

the sight of him sitting there se calmly made Noelle's heart skip a beat.

"Where's Rosie?" she asked first.

Dylan seemed to notice her only then. After a pause, he smiled and replied, "She's sleeping. She kept looking for you last night. I didn't

know how to coax her to sleep, and I couldn't reach you on the phone. Eventually, I called Ms. Swift, and Rosie fell asleep while talking to her."

"Thank you," Noelle said softly. "Last night, I—"

"I know. Mr. Freeman was sick, right?" Dylan cut her off.

Noelle looked up in surprise.

"I know everything," he said with a smile. "So, you were with him last night?"
