Trouble in Paradise

Chapter 641

Chapter 0641

Leo collapsed to the floor, his eyes bloodshot. 'Are you crazy?"

He clutched his head, glanced at his palm, and cursed loudly, "Damn it! I'm bleeding!"

I stared at him impassively and pulled a document and a pen from my bag before tossing them to him. "This is a property transfer agreement. I'm not asking for much-just transfer the house where you and Yasmine lived together to her."

Leo wiped the blood from his forehead and glanced at the document with a sneer. That's typical of Yasmine. Even at the end, she has to cash in!"

"Stop the nonsense. This was my idea. It has nothing to do with her. I know you don't care about that house. Sign it, and I'll get someone to take you to the hospital.

Leo staggered to his feet, swaying. 'If all you wanted was the house, why the hell did you smash me?'

I gave him an apologetic smile. "Because I wanted to."

He shook his head slightly as if his vision was beginning to blur. "Damn it! I really can't give that house away. If she wants compensation, I can give her something else!"

"Don't play games with me. You two shouldn't see each other again!"

I knew Yasmine. Instead of hoping for him to have a change of heart, practical compensation was better for her. "Empty promises mean nothing. It's better to secure something tangible."

Leo took a deep breath, his voice strained. "Don't worry. What I give her will definitely satisfy her. I'll give her my entire fortune. Is that enough?"

I frowned, suspecting I'd hit Leo hard enough to knock his senses loose. I doubted he even knew what he was saying-he wouldn't give up a single house but was now talking about giving away his entire fortune?

"Le..." Before I could even finish saying his name, he collapsed right in front of me.

"Hey!" I nudged him with my foot. "Don't play dead!"

The man on the ground didn't move.

"Not much of a fighter, huh?" I called an ambulance, then Douglas. He answered quickly. "Douglas, I hit Leo. Get a lawyer and head to the hospital to clean up everything."

"You... you what?" Douglas sounded disoriented. "Say that again?"

I crouched down, picked up the agreement and pen, and stuffed them back into my bag before responding. "You heard me. I already called an ambulance. Just go to the hospital and find out which ward he's in."

After accepting reality, Douglas resigned himself to the situation and hung up.

Thurried out of the private room, shouting loudly, "Somebody help! Mr. Fisher drank too much. He fell and hit his head on the table! Help!"

Everyone knew Leo had been drinking all afternoon in the private room, so my claim didn't draw any suspicion.novelbin

A crowd immediately surged into the room, leaving me the least noticeable person there. Taking advantage of the chaos, I slipped away.

As Leo had said, it wasn't safe here. This was still his territory, and the only reason I dared to come alone was because of his past with Yasmine.

But if I didn't leave now, once the others realized what had happened, and with Leo incapacitated, I couldn't guarantee my own safety.

Cetting compensation for Yasmine wasn't urgent. I could visit him at the hospital tomorrow or the day after with witnesses to get his signature.

I was deep in thought as I approached the elevator, only to find its doors wide open.

The elevator operator had gone to retrieve the key for the freight elevator to ensure Leo could be taken out on a stretcher.

I stared at the empty elevator and fell into contemplation...
