Chapter 373 Mother and Son Reunite
The salty tears mixed with the taste of blood, filling Joyce's mouth.
She could never forget the pain of losing her child two years ago, nor the despair of seeing her child's body.
For two years, Joyce had almost the same dream every night.
Dreaming of her child calling her "Mom."
Every morning when she woke up, her pillow was wet.
Day after day of longing and increasing pain caused Joyce's depression to relapse.
It turned out that all of this was a lie.
Her baby had always been by her side.
Not only did she fail to breastfeed him, but she also didn't fulfill her responsibilities as a mother.
She foolishly thought that Paxon favored her for no reason.
It turned out to be a mother-child connection.
Such an obvious sign and she didn't even notice.
Thinking back on the past, Joyce felt heartbroken.
She slowly loosened her teeth, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Sebastian.
Joyce's voice was choked, and she couldn't speak for a long time.
After a while, she finally said intermittently, "Sebastian, you're so cruel."
Seeing her in such pain, Sebastian's eyes also reddened.
He gently wiped the tears from her face and said hoarsely, "I'm sorry, Joyce, I had no choice back then."
"So you chose to hurt me?"
"If our baby was still here, you wouldn't have divorced me. The longer you stayed with me, the more danger you and he would be in. I'd rather you hate me than put you in danger again."
Sebastian's voice trembled as he spoke.
Two years of concealment, how could he not feel heartache?
Watching Joyce suffer alone, he had wanted to tell her the truth many times.
But if he had done so, the consequences could have been disastrous.
Joyce forced herself to suppress the pain in her heart, her eyes gradually turning cold.
She wiped away her tears and said, "Since it was your choice, and since you knew I would hate you, don't blame me."
With that, she turned and sat by the bed, holding Paxon's small hand in her palm. Scalding tears fell on those tender little hands.
She said hoarsely, "Baby, I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
She lowered her head and kissed Paxon's hand repeatedly.
In her sorrow, a tender voice suddenly came to her ears.
"Mommy."
Hearing this, Joyce looked up sharply, meeting Paxon's bright eyes.
The word "Mommy" broke her heart.
She used to think Paxon called her that out of pity.
But now, in front of Alissa, he also called her "Mommy," which meant he might have known the truth long ago.
This realization made Joyce's heart ache even more and her tears flowed even more fiercely.
Joyce quickly leaned close to Paxon, her eyes filled with concern as she looked at him, "Baby, does it hurt a lot?"
Hearing her call him "Baby" and seeing her cry like this, Paxon had already guessed what was going on.
He immediately looked at Sebastian.
He softly called out, "Daddy."
Sebastian felt a sharp pain in his throat.
His voice was much hoarser than usual.

"Your mommy already knows."
With that sentence, Joyce instantly understood that Paxon had known she was his mother all along.
She stared at his bright eyes in disbelief and asked, "You knew all along, didn't you?" Paxon gently nodded.
He reached out his small hand to wipe Joyce's tears, his voice soft, "Mommy, I'm sorry,
I was afraid the big monster would hurt you, so I didn't acknowledge you."
Joyce instantly understood everything.
That's why Todd said Paxon didn't acknowledge the ultrasound.
That's why he was so nervous when he saw her taking Kimberly to get Neil checked.
It turned out he had known the truth all along but kept it to himself.
Paxon was just a two-year-old child.
They had made him bear so much.
Thinking of this, Joyce's heart ached even more.
She held Paxon's head in her arms, kissing his face repeatedly.
Joyce choked out, "Baby, I'm sorry, it's my fault for not realizing the truth, for letting your daddy deceive me for two years. For two years, I didn't fulfill my duties as a mother. I'm really sorry."
Seeing Joyce cry so sadly, Paxon also started to cry.
His small hand kept patting Joyce's head, saying, "Mommy, don't cry. Seeing you cry makes me want to cry, too."
Seeing the two of them in such pain, Alissa finally couldn't bear it anymore.
She walked over to Joyce, patted her back and said, "Joyce, Paxon is hurt. When the anesthesia wears off, he'll be in pain. Don't cry, let's check on him first."
Joyce then remembered that Paxon had just had surgery.
She immediately looked up and asked about Paxon's wound, "Does it hurt?" Paxon shook his head, "It doesn't hurt at all. The doctor said the anesthesia would make it not hurt."

Seeing how sensible he was, Joyce gently stroked his face and said softly, "If it hurts, tell me, don't hold it in, okay?"
"I know, but you have to stop crying, okay? I'll listen to you from now on."
To lighten the atmosphere, Alissa smiled and ruffled Paxon's hair, "You always bully me,
but you're so obedient to your mommy."
Paxon squinted his eyes and smiled at her, "I listen to you, too. I haven't shown anyone the photos of you and Julian kissing."noveldrama
"Otherwise, you want to show them to everyone?"
"No, you two are my favorite mommy and daddy. I'll protect your privacy."
Hearing this, Alissa's eyes instantly reddened.
She smiled and ruffled Paxon's hair, "I wonder who you got your eloquence from, you're so good with words."
Paxon tilted his head and said, "My mommy is a lawyer, of course, I take after her. My daddy says my brain is like his, and my mouth is like my mommy's. When I grow up, I'll be invincible."
Alissa smiled and kissed him, "Okay, we'll wait to see you become invincible." Paxon hugged his mommies, looked around and then said with a smile, "When I grow up and make money, I'll buy pretty clothes for both of my mommies." Seeing how sensible he was, everyone couldn't help but smile through their tears.
After calming down, Joyce looked at Alissa and said, "Alissa, thank you and Julian for all your hard work these past two years."
Alissa looked at her with concern, "Don't blame Sebastian, he had no choice. The situation was so serious back then, his priority was you and Paxon's safety. But fortunately, things are moving in a good direction. Once it's all over, you three can reunite."
Julian also came over and said, "Joyce, even though Sebastian knew the truth, he didn't have it any easier than you these past two years. He knew Paxon was his son but didn't dare to get close to him. That kind of pain must have been even harder to bear. Don't blame him. We'll keep Paxon with us for now, we can't let our guard down, understand?"
Joyce nodded slightly, "I understand."
"Okay, we'll leave Paxon with you. Alissa and I will take care of the other two kids."
"Alright."
After the door to the hospital room was closed, Sebastian walked over to Joyce.
He gently brushed her cheek with his large hand and said hoarsely, "Joyce, can you forgive me?"
What do you think?
