Chapter 29
Adelie POV
I spent the whole day at Raymond's house, and I also plan to spend the night there, since we'll be attending a party together tonight.
Sitting in front of the mirror, the door creaks open, and Raymond walks in with a smile playing on his lips.
"Did I disturb you?" He asks as he comes to stand behind me, tucking my hair behind me as he leans forward and pecks my neck.
"No, you didn't," I reply to him after he pulls away, and he slowly nods his head. His hands are still on my shoulders, and with admiration on his face.
"You are gorgeous," He says for the umpteenth time, and I blush hard. He never ceases to tell me how gorgeous I am, and that only makes me fall more and more for him. Did I forget to talk about everyone in his family? Well, they are all fun to be with, especially his mom. I was thinking she won't like me, but she loves me and also thinks that I'm good for her son, which I'm glad about.
"Thank you," I blush hard, and he giggles softly.
"You look cute when you blush," He ruffles my hair before he walks over to sit on the bed, and I roll my eyes.
"So, who's party are we attending?" I ask curiously.
"My best friend's," He replies to me, and I squint my eyebrows. Is this his way of introducing me to his friends? Wow!
"Many of my friends will also be present there, so I want you to meet them," He further utters, and I slowly nod my head. I'm glad he's not hiding me and wants me to meet everyone he relates with. Although it doesn't give me so much security and assurance that we'll be together forever, but at least I'm seeing that he's doing his best to show me how sincere he is.
"You don't have to be nervous later, I will protect you," He winks at me, and I chuckle softly.
"I didn't say that I was nervous," I roll my eyes at him, and he giggles.
"Alright. I will still protect you, regardless," He winks at me, and I smile at him.
He finally stands up and walks into the bathroom to have his bathe, since it's almost time we leave for the party. I take the opportunity to quickly get dressed before he comes out because I'm not comfortable being naked around him. At least not yet.
By the time he comes out of the bathroom, I'm already fully dressed and waiting for him to join me after he dressed too. My mouth drops open when I see him come out of the bathroom. His body is dripping wet, his hair is clinging to his head with water dripping from them. His perfectly toned abs are everything to drool over.
"Stop drooling at me like that. I'm shy," His voice brings me back to reality, and I bite my bottom lip as I turn my face away. What the hell was I even doing, staring at him?
"Uhm... I'll wait for you in the living room," I quickly pick up my purse from the bed, ready to leave the room.
"My mom is going to question you if you leave. She is crazy and would think we are faking being in a relationship. Do you want her to force me to marry someone else?" He utters, and I feel this sudden nervousness that fills my heart. I don't know why the sudden feelings, but I know that I don't want him with another woman.
"I'll sit then," I reply to him, sitting on the edge of the bed, and looking everywhere else but his direction.
After spending almost forever in the room, we finally leave for the party, and by the time we leave the house, it's already past 8pm.

He drives us to the party, and we arrive in less than an hour. The villa where the party is hosting is quite big and beautiful. According to what he said, a friend of his is celebrating his birthday today, and hosting the party here.
By the time we walk inside the villa, my mouth almost falls open at the number of people that welcomes us. For someone who doesn't like staying in a crowd, I think I might just end up passing out later.
"Look who we have here. Hey, Raymond," A young lady of the same age as I walk up to us and pulls him into a tight warm hug, and my blood boils in rage, but I try not to show it. How can he allow someone to hug him in my presence? "Hey, Rita. It has been a while. How have you been?" The way he smiles at her makes me so angry that I feel like punching him hard in the face. Like seriously? He's annoying.
"I've been good. I have missed you so much, sweetheart. Look at you, so cute," She winks at him, and I scoff angrily since I can't control my anger anymore.
"Like seriously, Ray? Don't I exist here anymore?" Tears well up in my eyes as I glare at him, and his eyes narrow.
"What are you talking about, baby?" He tries to touch me, but I step away from him.
"Hey, sweetheart, calm down. I'm sorry, I should've introduced myself, but I was so carried away. Raymond is my uncle, ok? I'm Rita, his niece," She introduces herself to me, and I look away embarrassingly. Wait! Now that I look at her, she has this resemblance with his mom. "She's the one you told me about, right? She's gorgeous, and I love her," She turns to Raymond and says to him, but he's busy staring at me with a smile on his face.
"Sweetheart, I love how you're trying to protect your man. Keep up the good work," She further says to me, and I smile nervously.
"You look pretty when you're jealous, sweetheart," Raymond whispers to my ear, and my heart skips.
"Just stop with oppression already, Ray. You know my boyfriend is not here," She whines, and I chuckle softly.
"It's not my fault you didn't come here with him, right?" He smirks at her, and she rolls her eyes.
"I will leave you two to have fun now. What's your name, sweetheart?" She asks me.
"Adelie," I reply to her, and she nods her head.
"Alright, sweetheart. See you some other time. And Ray, tell your mom that I may be at her house next weekend to spend some time with her," She winks at him before she walks away.
"I'm sorry, love. Rita can be crazy sometimes. She acts so clingily to me in public, which was what she displayed here just now. I'm sorry love," He apologizes, and I nod my head.
"Look at you... You are already teary. Don't ruin your make-up, ok?" He chuckles softly as he cups my cheeks in his palm, and before I can react, he leans forward and claims my lips, kissing me slowly like his life depends on it.
"Whoa! Look who we have here! You want to turn my birthday party into an engagement party, that's bad," Hearing the masculine voice, I quickly pull away from him, and turn to see a young man of the same age as him, walking up to us with a big smile on his lips. He seems to be the celebrant...
