Chapter 52
Asher POV
"You arrogant jerk! Do you ever love her?" I guess that must be her cousin's voice, and wait a minute! He just called me that? "What did you say?" Turning to face him, I ask to be sure he wasn't referring to me.
"What are you going to do about it, huh? All you ever did was hurt her. Are you kidding me? Who does that?" He snaps at me like he would hit me anytime soon, but I bet that is one thing he would never want to do because he won't even spend another second here on earth if he dares to lay his hands on me. I mean, does he want to write his death wish?
"Stop, Nathan. Just stop!" She turns to him and tries to stop him. Isn't it time I just end this shit once and for all? I mean, I have been doing this all along because she was desperately crazy over me, and not that I ever wanted this relationship. "Love? Do I ever love her? No, I never did," I reply to him sarcastically, and I watch as he balls his fists, and wait a minute! Who does he want to use that on? Me? Definitely not me. "You!"
"Love doesn't exist in my world, and I told her that. I told her to never expect anything in return... I do things based on my mood. I show her love when my mood tells me to, and..." "You are nothing, but a bastard!" Her cousin must like her so much to be fighting for her like this.
"Yeah, I get that a lot. I told her to never expect me to love her, but she insisted. Why is she hurt now?" I raise my eyebrows before I glance at her, and she's already in tears.
"Why are you crying? Are you hurt? I told you who you were dealing with before you started this. I warned you... Are you thinking that I'm the bad guy here?" I turn to her and ask, but she only throws her gaze away.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"Is that true? Did you lose your mind, Cynthia? How could you throw yourself at someone when you were even sure he had no feelings for you? What the hell did you think you were doing, gambling your heart?" He snaps at her, while she just cries her eyes out like someone that'd just lost a loved one.
"No, I didn't. I did that because I love him. I love Asher," Oh, poor Cynthia. I wonder how she still manages to love me even after all these.
"What the hell are you saying? How can you still say that even in this situation? Have you lost your mind?" The Nathan guy scoffs at her. "Yes, I have lost my mind, Nathan. I have lost everything... He is my happiness..."
"But he doesn't love you..."
"That doesn't matter!" I watch the interesting drama they are acting in front of me, and I think it's quite worth watching.
"Let's break up, Cynthia," I finally say to her after a long silence, and I can see the shock in her eyes as she stares at me with her mouth agape.
"Huh?" She blinks her eyes rapidly.

"You are going to get yourself hurt if you continue to see me. Not that anything good is ever going to come out of this relationship, anyway. I mean I can't ever marry you, because I'm already in love with someone else from the start," I utter, and she scoffs.
"Are you kidding me?" She scoffs again.
"No, I'm not. I wish you all the best in life... And one more thing, let's not talk again..." I pause and reach out for my phone. I scroll through it, and once I am able to find the number, I block it and show her before I delete it from my phone. I mean, why should I have her number on my phone?
"You are going to end things just like that? You gave me three months to make your heart beat... I promised that I would do it..."
"There's no point in trying to, Cynthia... Someone already did, and I can't go back to you," I reply to her before I turn and walk out of the station, ignoring all her cries.
"Now, I feel relieved," I sigh deeply once I hop inside my car. Since it's still afternoon, I decide to hang around somewhere until it's time to see Alvira.
It's finally evening, and I head to the bar she asked me to meet her.
The drive to the bar didn't take much time since it's close by, and I arrive in exactly ten minutes. I find her sitting alone in the bar once I arrive, and I need no one to tell me that she must've booked the whole place for us. That is what she does often.
"Did I keep you waiting?" I inquire as I walk up to her, and pull the chair across from her, before sitting on it.

"Yes, you kept me waiting a bit," She replies to me after she takes a sip from the red wine I met her drinking.
"Should I say sorry about that? I don't think it's necessary. Why do you want to see me?" I ask her, cutting to the case.
"Why haven't you reached out to me since then? It has been four days already," She inquires.
"You told me that it was over between us," I shrug, and she scoffs as she throws her gaze away.
"Are you kidding me?" She scoffs.
"No, I'm not. Do I look like I am?" I ask her since she should know that I'm not used to joking around like that.
"You ran out like that while we were in the middle of..." She pauses and grabs a handful of her hair like she wants to pull it out. She looks extremely angry.
"You ran out, even though I told you it would be over between us if you stepped out of the door... You left, and you think it was alright to not reach out to me since then? I thought you said you love me?" She snaps at me angrily as she slams her hands on the table, not even giving a damn about the waiters listening to our conversations. She knows too well how much I hate to be yelled at, but she should thank her luck that I have a lot of things going on in my mind now, and can't even think of anything else.
"What do you want to talk about with me, Alvira?" I ask her, and she takes a deep breath.
"I want you to mark me, Erubas," She releases the bombshell to me, and my eyes slowly widen as I freeze in my seat. Is she kidding me now or is she serious? This isn't happening, please...
