After posting the photos, Miranda put her phone away. She was completely unaware of the chaos unfolding in the comment section.

The two of them headed back as it was getting late. Unexpectedly, they ran into Elizabeth again in the hotel lobby.

“Dr. Jefferson, Miranda,” she greeted them with a strained smile. She couldn’t stand seeing the both of them walking side by side through the entrance, chatting and laughing.

Bryan fell silent for a moment before giving her a promise. “Next year. I’ll definitely recommend you to go to the summit with Dr. Jefferson next year.”

“Is that true? But what if you’re chosen again next year? That would mean I’d be taking your spot. Will you be okay with that?”

“What are you talking about? You’re my girlfriend, and we’re going to be family in the future. What’s mine is yours. Besides, seeing you improve makes me happy. Why wouldn’t I be okay with it?” Bryan said.

“In that case, why wait until next year? Can you give me your spot at the summit this time, please?” Elizabeth finally seized the opportunity and blurted out her request without hesitation.

Taken aback, Bryan stared at her blankly. For a brief moment, Elizabeth felt like he might see through her intentions.

She regretted being too eager and explained herself awkwardly, “I’m sorry. That was selfish of me.”

it’s a good thing…” As he spoke, he nodded in agreement.
