Chapter 109
The moment Josephine returned to the villa, she started packing her things.
George hesitated for a moment before cautiously asking, "Ms. Dunn... You booked two tickets. Don't tell me you're planning to take me to Sunvale with you?"
"What, you don't want to go?"
"Of course I do!" he practically shouted, eyes lighting up. "My girlfriend's in Sunvale! If I didn't have to look after you, I wouldn't have had to come all the way from Sunvale to Crestwood-uh, I mean... I'll book the tickets for you right now!"
His excitement got the better of him, and he ended up blurting out more than he should have.
Josephine cocked her brow, piecing things together. George had come from Sunvale to Crestwood for a business trip. That meant Ethan hadn't just pulled a random driver from his villa in Crestwood-George had been specifically sent from Sunvale to take care of her.
On top of that, Ethan had kept it a secret. Why? Before she could figure it out, her phone buzzed with a message from Mason. "Ms. Dunn, check your account. Yvan left you a comment."
Yvan? Josephine immediately whipped out her phone. The moment she opened her account, her notifications were a disaster-unread messages: 999+, likes: 999+, comments: 999+.
She hadn't expected Yvan to be doing so well. His popularity hadn't faded over the years-if anything, his fanbase had only grown stronger. Bracing herself, she tapped into the comment section.
Yvan: "Old friend, why didn't you call me to collaborate on your new movie?"
Fortunately, he hadn't gone nuts. Josephine exhaled in relief. Her shoulders relaxed slightly, but the moment she saw his profile picture, her fingers stilled.
His profile picture was a photo she had taken of him. That winter, after his performance, they had walked down a street in a foreign country with his guitar on his back. When she noticed the snow falling, she pulled out her phone to snap a picture of him. Then, she had him pose for a few more. She had spent nearly an hour trying to capture the perfect shot.
He had complained at first, but when he saw the final result, he had loved it-immediately changing his profile pictures across all his accounts to the images she had taken.
BUT
Josephine wasn't sure if he'd been using them all this time or if he'd changed it just to mess with her. But as the memory surfaced she found her irritation softening just a little. noveldrama
Josephine: "I'll definitely reach out if the opportunity arises."
After hitting send, she scrolled through the comment section on his post and almost rolled her eyes. His fans were still as chaotic as ever, and they still despised her just as much.
"Aaaaahhhh! My king, what are you doing here? Are you lost?"
"Yvan, you haven't posted in months, and as soon as you're back in the country, they're already making you work? Why can't your company let you breathe?"
"Do you have to work with her, Yvan? She's washed up now, and her movies are all artsy stuff with low box office receptions-people aren't into that anymore!" "How much did they pay you, Yvan? For you to stoop to this level?"
"Yvan's perfect! Everyone else needs to fuck off!"
Josephine let out a dry chuckle. Unbelievable Yvan was the one who had come to her-commenting on her post,
Sg to collaborate-yet
somehow, his fans twisted it and made it seem like she was the one trying to ride on his coattails.
Some things never changed. Three years ago, his fans had been relentless in their online harassment, and three years later, they hadn't mellowed in the slightest.
But as she scrolled, one particular comment caught her attention. "You disgusting pair! If you dare get back together, I'll make sure you both go down in flames!"
Back together? Her fingers tightened around her phone. Their relationship had been so well hidden. Hardly anyone knew. Could this person be someone they knew?
What do you think?
