When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Chapter 124

Josephine took a bite of her pancake while quickly typing a reply. "Send me the caption."

Yvan's response came almost instantly. "You're promoting my album, and you still need me to write the caption? Why don't you just hand over your account password? I'll post it myself!" He even added a smug meme to top it off.

Josephine was too embarrassed to admit she didn't even know what his new album was about, so she took a screenshot of their conversation and sent it to Mason. "Find out what his new album is about and help me come up with a caption. I'll just copy and paste it."

The moment she hit send, she froze. Because instead of sending it to Mason, she had sent it to Yvan.

Panic shot through her as she quickly hit the recall button. But it was too late.

Yvan: "Too late, sweetheart. I already saw it!"

Her cheeks flushed, and she tried to stay calm. "My bad, I sent it to the wrong person." Josephine then hurriedly sent the message to Mason.

Yvan: "Wow, you care about me so much that you don't even know my album's name? There's no need to trouble your assistant; just copy this: 'Yvan's debut album, "Butterfly," will be released at 8:00 pm on the 8th. Don't miss it!"" Then, he sent a promotional image of his album.

Her eyes widened when she saw the image. The butterfly on the album cover looked eerily familiar. Josephine bit down on her cutlery and asked hesitantly. "Wait... Is this the butterfly I drew for you?"

Yvan: "And what if it is? You gave it to me, so it's mine now. I own the rights to it. You're not seriously thinking of suing me, are you?"

So, it was her drawing. Honestly, she was happy he'd kept the drawing she gave him years ago and even used it for his new album cover. But his words were a bit much.

Josephine: "Don't worry. I don't need your pennies."

The moment she sent the message, she received a Venmo of 90 thousand dollars.

Yvan: "Here's a little hush money. Wouldn't want you slandering me online, saying I stole your work."

Josephine rolled her eyes. She didn'tnoveldrama

bother accepting the money or

replying. Instead, she copied the caption he had sent, attached the promo image, and posted it to her account.

Sure enough, the backlash was instant.

"WTF? Yvan doesn't need you to promote his album!"

"Clout-chaser, as always."

"Here she goes again. She just won't go away! Can she stop leeching off Yvan already?"

Josephine sighed, closed the app,

and tossed her phone onto the table. When

andld his fans understand

that he had long stopped caring

about their precious Yvan?

"You're playing with your phone instead of eating. No wonder you keep getting low

blood sugar." Just then, Ethan's voice sounded behind her.

Embarrassed, she explained, "I just woke up. Had to check on work."

"Promoting an unknown singer's album counts as work?"

Josephine actually laughed at that. Unknown singer? If Yvan heard that, he'd definitely flip out.

"He's actually fairly well-known. His album has made it to the Billboard Top 10 twice."

As an amateur artist, that was an impressive feat.

Ethan didn't comment further. "If you're done eating, we should go."

"Alright." Josephine stood up and walked toward him-but as she got closer, she noticed something was off. His lips were pressed into a thin line, and his expression was darker than before.

She stopped in her tracks. What was it this time? He seemed fine when she came downstairs earlier.
