Mason had such a short fuse. It seemed like he'd never change.

Just then, Erhan walked into the hospital room. "How are you feeling? Feeling better?"

Mason scoffed. "Feeling better? than, she just tainted because of that scoundrel. I'm going to teach him a lesson"

Ashe stood up to leave, Josephine grabbed his waist. "It's no big deal. Let's not make a scene."-

"How is this not a big deal? you even passed out!

"nut I'm awake now, right?"

Ethan chimed in. "You might not be able to handle him alone. Let Ms. Dunn eat something first. We can go together later."

"Alright. The two of us will show him a thing or two)"

Josephine couldn't help but laugh. "Even if the two of you go together, you might not win."

She was all too familiar with Zayn's habits. He devoted at least two hours every day to miscle training and made sure to engage in outdoor activities at least three times a week, keeping him in peak physical form.

In the past three years, anytime there was a need for physical confrontation, he had always emerged victorious

Erhan appeared to want to speak up upon hearing this but ultimately remained quiet. He simply placed a bag on the table and pulled out a box of cake from inside. "The doctor recommended that you have something sweet after waking up, so I bought some for you. I'm not sure if it's to your liking"

He assisted Josephine in sitting up, gently setting a tray on the bedside table and then sliding a piece of cake toward her.

Josephine's eyes widened in shock when she saw the outer packaging of the cake. She couldn't believe her eyes and quickly turned the box around, still in disbelief. "This is the cake from my favorite store when I was a child is it still open?

"Yes," Ethan responded, "This bakery is thriving. It has expanded to over a dozen locations in six different cities. The newest one just opened in Sunvale

Though she had no appetite at first, Josephine's face lit up at the sight of her favorite childhood cake. She eagerly took a bite.

It was even better than she remembered, with a perfect balance of sweetness and flavor.

As Mason watched Josephine savoring every bite, he felt a sense of relief and secretly gave Ethan a thumbs-up.

"He has a great taste in things," Mason thought to himself. "How did he know that this was exactly what Josephine loves?"

As she neared the end of her meal, Josephine's memory was jogged "Would you like to try some? I haven't touched this side yet."

"No thanks,..." Mason declined right away, but than reached for a fork and sampled a bite from the untouched portion "Wow, this is delicious."

Mason looked at him with a blank expression. Weren't rumors flying around that this guy took his physical fitness to the extreme and never indulged in swee treats? Why did it seem like he treated Josephine differently?

Josephine's lips curled into a smug smile as she replied, "Exactly. I'm not sure what this cake's secret is, but it's pure deliciousness. The base is incredibly moist and the sweetness level is off the charts."

She seemed to have overlooked the fact that it was Ethan who bought the cake, not her. Once she finished her slice of cake, she rubbed her sore neck, just as she was about to request some water, a warm cup of milk appeared in front of her. Even Josephine noticed that Ethan was being unusually caring and considerate.
