You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 102 The Cold Shoulder

Elijah fixed a stern gaze on the courier, his attention drawn to the sizable bouquet of roses in the man’s hands.

Who was the recipient of those flowers?

Freya Stone?

Just then, Freya leaned forward, curiosity etched on her face as she asked, “Who’s at the door?”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

The courier, sensing Elijah’s icy demeanor, cautiously replied, “Is it Miss Stone? I’m from the local courier service, and I have a delivery for you. Could you please sign for it?”

Freya inquired, “Who sent you?”

The courier responded, “It’s from Mr Vega”

Freya’s gaze immediately shifted to Elijah, and even from the side, she could feel his displeasure.

She knew Elijah must have guessed that it was a gift from Ronan Vega.

Despite knowing that Elijah would be angry, she still allowed the courier to bring the package inside. The courier cautiously squeezed past Elijah and handed the bouquet of red roses to Freya. “Please sign for it.”

Freya agreed and signed the receipt. The courier left the room in a hurry, perhaps relieved to be done with this troublesome delivery.

Elijah walked over, asking, “Do you like them?”

Freya opened the card and read the contents aloud, “Any woman would like these, I suppose.”

A cold snort escaped Elijah’s throat as he snatched the card from her hand.

Glancing at its contents, he read aloud, “I want to go to a place-it’s in your heart. My heart is not big, it only holds one person, you. Hurry up and divorce Elijah; I want you, love you. Ronan.”

Ronan’s words were straightforward yet ambiguous.

Elijah’s face darkened inch by inch, his white eyeballs turning red, as if drenched in fresh blood. He suppressed his anger and questioned Freya, “You want a divorce to marry Ronan?”

Freya hadn’t had a chance to read the card properly. However, seeing Elijah so angry, she knew the contents must be unpleasant. When she agreed to Ronan’s request, she knew that angering Elijah was inevitable. Provoking him was also her purpose.

“Yes,” she answered.

Elijah tore the card to shreds, his rage billowing. Seeing Freya with her plastered leg, he softened a bit. “Dreaming of a divorce? I told you, whoever you choose to be with, I’ll destroy them!”

After saying that, he stormed out, slamming the door.

Bang!

A loud sound reverberated, shaking the windows and doors as if they were about to shatter. This time, his anger was genuine. Freya shrank in surprise. Witnessing Elijah’s furious expression, her heart tightened, feeling a twinge of pity and guilt.

Had she gone too far?

Her phone, left under the pillow, suddenly vibrated.

Regaining composure, she reached for her phone. Upon opening it, she saw a video sent by Elowen.

It was Kai, awake and moving his eyes around, still without a clear focus. When he was born, his skin was red, but now it had gradually turned into a pale pink color, and his little face was incredibly tender.

She covered her lips as a sourness surged up her nose. Her newborn baby, separated from her before they could spend time together. She missed him, wanted to hold him, kiss him. Her reluctance to Elijah dissipated. How could she be soft-hearted? Her child needed her! She needed to break free from Elijah completely to live with her child.

The door to the ward suddenly opened. Freya, hurriedly tucking her phone under the blanket, looked toward the entrance. Xander led the way, and despite his tough demeanor, he was somewhat polite to Freya, knowing Elijah cared for her.

“Madam, the doctor said you can be discharged. Mr Silverton asked me to take you back to the villa.”

Elijah’s original words weren’t this pleasant or polite.

“I see.” Freya replied, lowering her eyes.

“Linda, pack up her things,” Xander instructed.

Linda went to gather Freya’s changed clothes in the hospital. Nothing much was there. Soon, everything was prepared, and Xander brought in a wheelchair. Linda assisted Freya onto it. Xander had brought a group of people with him, seemingly afraid that Freya would run away.

Seeing such a grand procession, Linda sensed something was amiss and whispered, “Madam, did you upset Mr Silverton again?”

Freya didn’t say anything, silently acknowledging.

“Why?” Linda couldn’t understand. Freya could have lived well with Elijah as long as she was willing. She could have been the envy of everyone as the Silverton family’s mistress. Why did she always have to challenge Elijah?

Linda just couldn’t comprehend it.

“Because…” Freya’s words weren’t finished when Xander, holding the bouquet Ronan sent, trampled it into pieces, ruining the roses completely. “This is also Mr Silverton’s order.”

Freya’s face remained expressionless since she didn’t genuinely like these roses.

“Feel free to crush them,” she said lightly.

Linda asked, “Is this from the man who came to visit you today?”

Freya nodded.

Linda couldn’t fathom it. “You know Mr Silverton’s temper. Why accept flowers from another man?”

Freya didn’t conceal anything, confessing straightforwardly, “I want a divorce.”

“Don’t know what’s good for you,” Xander somewhat thought that Freya lacked sensibility.

Freya smiled bitterly, not explaining anything.

Xander pushed her out of the hospital, and at the entrance, Yolanda Steele, arm in arm with Leo Stone, was heading in their direction. Leo Stone’s complexion wasn’t great.

Seeing Freya, Leo immediately approached, anxious, “Freya, where have you been these past few months? Where’s your mother?”

Freya glanced at Yolanda beside him and said, “You have a beautiful woman by your side. Why bother looking for my mother?”

Leo furrowed his brows tightly, his tone irritated, “I know you and your mother have been intentionally avoiding me. But I’m telling you, Freya, I won’t divorce her. If she wants to hide, let her hide… cough, cough…”

He hadn’t finished speaking when he started coughing violently. His lips turned pale. As a doctor, Freya immediately noticed that Leo seemed unwell.

Softening a bit, she said, “You came to the hospital for treatment, right? Go in quickly.”

Leo held his chest, coughing continuously. After a while, he could finally speak again, gasping for air, “How’s your leg?”

“Sprained.”

“That serious?”

“Not big deal.” Freya responded indifferently.

“Ah, all right. You’ve been unwell for a long time. Go to the hospital and get treated instead of wasting time here…” Yolanda tugged at Leo, “You’re like this, and you still have the mood to care about others.”

Leo sighed and glared at Yolanda. “Shut up.”

Yolanda was unwilling to accept it, “Exactly! The mother and daughter duo have been avoiding you for months, clearly not considering you significant. Yet, you keep trying to get close. Can’t you see they’re giving you the cold shoulder? Now she’s the Silverton family’s mistress, why would she still have eyes for you?”

“Xander, let’s go.” Freya had no interest in listening to Yolanda’s insinuations.

Freya had already boarded the car. Leo hadn’t retracted his gaze when Yolanda pulled him. “Let’s go, let’s go. Stop looking, she’s already far away.”

Leo Stone entered the hospital and underwent a series of examinations.

After all the results were out, Yolanda handed them to the doctor. The doctor, after reading the test results, wore a serious expression.

“May I ask what illness do I have?” Leo sat at the desk, looking at the doctor.
