You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 163 Shameless

“Is this your photo?”

Freya nodded. “Yes, it is. If I remember correctly, I should be six or seven years old in this picture.”

Elijah couldn’t help but laugh.

Freya pulled a face. “What are you laughing at?”

Elijah handed the photo to her. “Are you sure this is your photo?”

Upon seeing the photo was not of herself but of Kai, she stammered, “Um…”

“It must be my mother who switched mine with Kai’s,” Freya explained.

Freya placed the photo back. Elijah’s gaze, however, remained fixed on the photo.

“Freya, move back to my villa.”

Freya hesitated briefly but agreed, “Okay.”

“Freya, are you back?” Elowen Noir’s voice suddenly echoed, accompanied by the sound of footsteps.

Freya quickly got up from the bed. She felt a bit uneasy, not sure if it was because Elijah was there.

“Mom,” Freya responded.

As soon as she confirmed her daughter’s return, Elowen Noir’s voice arrived before she did. “Has Kai been found?”

While speaking, she had already reached the door. Seeing Elijah there, her surprise turned into a cold expression. “Why are you here?”

From Elowen’s perspective, Elijah was a man without responsibility and compassion. Freya had a hard time giving birth to his child, and what had he done?

“Waaah…”

Kai suddenly cried.

“Has Kai been found?” Elowen looked towards the bed and, seeing Kai, practically rushed over. Kai was the one she had raised, and her emotions ran deep. During the time Kai was missing, she couldn’t eat or sleep well, losing weight.

She held Kai. “My good boy.”

Elowen joyfully looked at Kai, stroking his face. Her expression gradually turned colder. “Kai has lost weight.”

Then, through gritted teeth, she exclaimed, “That beast, Ronan Vega!”

“Mom.” Freya reminded her that there was someone else in the room.

Elowen didn’t care. If she could die for her grandson, what did her image matter?

Elijah also felt that Elowen had an opinion about him. He wanted to explain, but he didn’t know what to say. He wasn’t good at explaining, and he despised the need for it. However, facing Elowen, he felt it necessary to provide some explanation. After all, the child was under her care, and she was Freya’s mother. He needed to show respect and be mindful of his image in her eyes.

Freya sensed Elijah’s intention. She had a look that said he wanted to explain but didn’t know what to say. “If you still have things to attend to, I’ll walk you downstairs.”Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Freya deliberately held his arm in front of Elowen, indicating that she and Elijah were on good terms now.

Elijah hesitated.

“I’ll talk to my mom.” Freya said.

Only then did Elijah follow her downstairs. When they reached the lower floor, Freya saw him off. “My mom needs some time to accept you. She knows that our marriage wasn’t based on mutual affection initially, and there have been many things happening in between. I gave birth to Kai alone, she’s not going to be happy with you.”

Elijah remained silent. Freya continued explaining, “She doesn’t know what happened between us. At that time, we didn’t know each other, and I didn’t know Kai was yours. That’s why I hid and secretly gave birth to Kai. My mom probably thinks you treated me badly. If there’s anything she doesn’t like about you, can you not mind?”

Elijah wouldn’t mind. He was grateful to Elowen for taking care of their child.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Freya thought he might not accept it and spoke angrily, “If my mom is not happy, do you have to be so petty? I’ve explained everything!”

Elijah looked at her angrily flushed face and couldn’t help but smile. “Are you angry?”

Freya really wanted to shout at him but she turned away.

Elijah grabbed her wrist. “I’m not angry. I thank you and your mother.”

Freya turned to look at him.

Elijah held her. “Come with me to the company. Xander’s matter might be settled by now.”

Freya was unwilling. She hadn’t spent much time with Kai since she found him today, and she wanted to accompany him more.

“I’m not going.”

“I’ll have the driver take you back later,” Elijah said as he tried to put her in the car.

Was she just supposed to sit in the car and accompany him to the company?

“Why are you so childish?” she said, helpless and amused.

Was this the same Elijah who carried himself with such arrogance? Could he be this cute?

On the way to the company, the atmosphere in the car was quiet. Both of them didn’t speak, but the mood was relaxed. It felt like a couple in love, even giving a slightly sweet impression.

When they arrived at the company building, Elijah parked the car and said, “Since you’re here, come upstairs and have a glass of water.”

Was he going to say, ‘If you’ve had water, just stay here. We can leave together later’ again?

Really, could he be any more childish?

But Freya didn’t mind. In fact, she felt a little secretly pleased in her heart, enjoying his clinginess.

Entering the lobby, they took the elevator straight to the top floor. Passing by the secretary’s desk, Elijah instructed, “Make two cups of coffee.”

“I’ll do it.” Freya smiled. “What flavor do you like?”

The secretary chimed in, “Mr Silverton likes it plain, without anything added.”

Elijah cast a cold glance at the secretary. The secretary quickly lowered her head.

“I don’t even know your inclination.” Freya seemed to be jealous.

Elijah liked the way she got jealous for him. His lips curled up.

Freya caught his eye and quickly looked away. “I’ll go make coffee.”

Since she had been given a tour by the secretary last time, she knew where the pantry was.

Soon, she brought back two cups of coffee. At the doorway, she saw Elara Montague. Xander had transferred her to a lower level as an administrator. At her level, she wasn’t supposed to be in the high-level executive area. However, she tried everything to stay close because Elijah was here. Her goal was to get closer to Elijah, to make him fall in love with her. That was why she found excuses to come here today. She even intentionally revealed the jade pendant. Last time, Elijah let her stay because of this pendant, and now she wanted to use it to persuade Elijah to bring her into the company. This way, she could see Elijah more often.

Seeing Freya there, her expression changed instantly. She hurriedly hid the jade pendant and looked cautious. “Why are you here?”

Freya lifted her chin, asking, “Why can’t I be here?”

“You…” Elara Montague’s face turned ugly. She was enraged. “Get lost!”

If it were in the past, Freya would ignore her or not even consider her. But things were different now. She wanted to give Kai a home, and she wanted to seize the person she liked. She couldn’t ignore this woman who also coveted Elijah.

“Sorry, it was my husband who asked me to come. Excuse me.” She deliberately provoked Elara Montague.

As expected, Elara was deeply stimulated by the word ‘husband.’

“You shameless woman! You divorced from Elijah a long time ago, and you shamelessly call him your husband? You slut!” She raised her arm to hit Freya.

This was what Freya wanted. Before Elara’s hand could land, Freya slightly turned her head to the side and fell to the ground. Coffee splashed all over her.

Elara was puzzled. She hadn’t hit Freya yet.

Freya knew the temperature of the coffee. It wasn’t too hot, so she dared to do this. But the coffee on her skin still made it slightly reddish, with a faint burning sensation. The sound of the broken cup outside alarmed Elijah in the office.

He walked out and saw Freya sitting on the floor in a miserable state, covered in coffee. There were small coffee stains on her face, and the fabric on her chest was wet from the spilled coffee, sticking closely to her underwear.

His brows furrowed. “What’s going on?” As he spoke, he reached out his hand to Freya.

Freya, seizing the opportunity before Elara could speak, said, “I accidentally sprained my foot, it has nothing to do with Miss Montague.”

This was a double-edged remark. On the surface, it seemed like she was speaking up for Elara Montague, but she was also saying that she fell because of Elara.

Freya raised her gaze to look at Elijah’s outreached hand, gently placing her hand in his. Elijah grasped it and helped her up, pulling her into his embrace.

Elara was infuriated to the point of crooked nose.

“I didn’t hit her,” she explained quickly.

Freya knew she didn’t need to say anything at this time. She lay on Elijah’s chest, sounding frightened, “Should I go back first?”

Elijah glanced at Elara, his voice icy. “Who allowed you to come over?”
