You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 179 The Wicked Witch

Zane heard the sound and quickly hid his phone under the blanket. His movements were swift, and neither Freya nor Elowen noticed anything unusual.

Elowen placed the food on the bedside cabinet, “Are you hungry? Have some breakfast.” Saying so, Elowen took out the carefully prepared meal.

“I don’t want to eat. I want to be alone.” Zane’s expression and voice were both cold. He didn’t overly show his grief.

Elowen wanted to persuade him, but Freya interrupted, “Mom, let him be alone for a while.”

Elowen held back the words of persuasion and instructed, “The food is here. Eat when you’re hungry.”

Zane remained silent, and Elowen couldn’t help sighing.

“Alright.” Freya took Elowen away. “Zane, rest.”

Freya closed the ward door and told Elowen, “Zane needs time to process. He can’t eat right now. Don’t try to persuade him. Yolanda Steele was his mother, and he won’t accept it immediately. It’s a natural reaction.”

Elowen understood, “I know. I’m concerned about his health. He still has injuries, and being overly sad isn’t good for him.”

Freya took a deep look at her mother, who was overly compassionate. Considering Zane was Yolanda Steele’s son, Freya was surprised at how Elowen could set aside past grievances and wholeheartedly care for Zane. For some reason, she felt that Zane was different today. She couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was different, but she just felt a change. She feared that Elowen would go all out for Zane and end up getting hurt.

“Mom, be mindful of the situation.”

Elowen seemed to understand what her daughter was saying but didn’t take it to heart. She felt that Zane was different from Yolanda Steele. Freya didn’t say much. She had other things to attend to and left. After leaving the hospital, Freya went to meet Mrs Quinn. Since the last incident, Mrs Quinn had been helpful, and Freya invited her for afternoon tea as a token of gratitude.

The two met at a well-decorated restaurant.

Headence Group.

Elijah arrived at the company, and Xander was already waiting for him.

The address from the message had been traced. “The ID’s precise location is in the sea. I went there with some people. Thorne Silverton’s yacht had been seized, but someone took it out to sea again. I found a computer and the website where the messages were sent to you. The clues point directly to the Silverton family. Considering the circumstances, it’s highly probable it was them, and the evidence seems to support it.”

Elijah sat behind his desk, slightly reclined. He heard Xander’s words but didn’t speak. He was contemplating. Even if it was someone from the Silverton family.

What was their purpose in doing this?

What effect did Yolanda Steele’s death have?

Suddenly, Elijah squinted.

Yolanda Steele had died, but she had a son. In an instant, he figured it out. They led him there, making him appear at the scene of Yolanda Steele’s death. They wanted Zane, Yolanda Steele’s son, to believe that Elijah killed her. Then, they would use Zane against him? Zane must have received the evidence of him killing Yolanda Steele by now. With technology being so advanced, the most direct and impactful evidence would be a video. The incident at the scene was surely recorded and sent to Zane Stone, along with the message that he was the one who killed her.

“We need to go to the hospital,” Elijah suddenly stood up.

“Why go to the hospital?” Xander didn’t catch on immediately.

Elijah didn’t have time to explain, “Just come.”

“Okay.” Xander followed.

They took the elevator downstairs, and Elijah’s phone suddenly rang. He took out his phone while walking, and Arwen’s voice came from the other end, “Elijah, it’s me. Your aunt…”

Before she could finish, Elijah hung up directly.

Not a minute later, Xander’s phone rang. It was Arwen again, “Tell Elijah that Elara Montague is in my hands. If he doesn’t answer the phone, I’ll destroy her right now.”

Xander had no choice but to relay the message to Elijah. Elijah’s steps paused, and he turned to look at Xander, “What did you say?”

Xander repeated the message and added, “How did she think of capturing Elara Montague?”

Elijah gestured, “Give me the phone.”

He answered, his voice cold, “What do you want?”

Arwen went straight to the point, “I heard that Elara Montague saved you when you fell into the water. If you had died that time, everything you have now would belong to my son. She ruined my good fortune. Do you think I can let her go?”

“State your terms,” Elijah said straightforwardly.

“Okay, since you’re so straightforward, I won’t beat around the bush. Elara Montague is your savior, right? I’ll exchange her for my son. How about that?” Arwen said.

After reaching Elara, Arwen knew about her liking for Elijah. So, the two had reached a cooperation agreement. While implementing this plan, Arwen thought that she could also use this situation to exchange her son’s freedom for Elara Montague.

“Your son is not with me.” while speaking, Elijah signaled to Xander, who immediately understood, quietly left to find someone to locate Arwen’s current position.

“Since you’re so smart, but I’m not stupid either. Without your intervention, I can still save my son.”

“What if I refuse?” asked Elijah.

“Then, I’ll have someone rape Elara Montague. However, can you really watch your savior be trampled on? She saved your life, can you really stand by and do nothing?” She deliberately emphasized the words ‘your savior.’

For the incident where Elijah was pushed into the water years ago, Arwen had always denied any involvement. After all, there was no evidence. Now, she indirectly admitted that she was behind it. Even if she didn’t say it, Elijah had long known about it. All these years of peace were maintained because Jack was still alive. Now that the cat was out of the bag, there was no need to hide anymore.

Elijah sneered, “I think you dialed the wrong number. You should have called the police.”

After saying that, he hung up.

Meanwhile, Xander traced Arwen’s location through the recent call.

“Bring people there,” Elijah said.

Xander immediately went to arrange it.

They arrived half an hour later. Arwen seemed to know they would find her, and seeing them wasn’t surprising. She smiled, “You came quickly, beyond my expectations. I thought it would take you at least an hour to find this place.”

Elijah didn’t waste words with her but said directly, “If she saved me, it’s true. But if she dies today, I’ll buy her a good tombstone.”This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

After saying that, he turned around.

Arwen’s expression changed, “You’re truly heartless. You won’t even save your savior. Since you’re so heartless, then I won’t be soft either.”

She clapped her hands, and the curtain behind her was pulled open, revealing a glass wall. Arwen had gone through great trouble to find this place. Behind the glass wall was Elara Montague, tied to a table in an X-shaped position, her hands and feet spread out like an “X”. Six or seven big men stood beside her.

“If you step out of this door, Elara Montague will be taken by these people, one by one.”

Arwen said with a raised chin.

Xander took a glance, his eyelids dropping. In his heart, he thought Arwen was a wicked witch. She was so ruthless. As a woman herself, how could she treat another woman like this? Was she even human? Wasn’t she afraid of facing retribution?

Elijah glanced briefly, still expressionless, and said, “Do as you wish.”

“Xander, let’s go.” With that, he took a step.

Arwen directly ordered her men to act.

Elara Montague knew about this plan and had discussed it with Arwen. But now, the men who were going to hurt her seemed to be doing it for real. They tore off her clothes, and she screamed in fright!

“Ah-“
