You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 206 Betrayal

Evan muttered, “Sorry.”NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.

As he spoke, he looked up and saw Freya, immediately saying, “Hello, Mrs Silverton.”

Freya was puzzled. She seemed to not recognize the person in front of her.

How did he know her?

He looked older than her.

“You are…”

“I’m Evan Drake, I’ve been abroad all this time and just returned recently.” Evan explained.

His appearance was unfamiliar to many, and that was the reason why Elijah had called him back. Ever since Elijah established the company in Country F, Evan had been responsible for the work there. His qualifications were even higher than Xander’s. And his abilities naturally surpassed Xander’s. Otherwise, Elijah wouldn’t have let him work at the headquarters.

“I was just discussing something with Mr Silverton, and now I’m preparing to leave,” Evan said, not knowing if Freya understood, and added a sentence.

Freya probably understood that it was something related to the company. He was one of Elijah’s people, she just didn’t know him personally. She smiled politely, “Alright, you go ahead and do your thing.”

Evan nodded at her. Then he walked away.

Shortly after Evan left, Arwen Silverton received an email. She thought it was some document from the company, but when she opened it, she saw a video of her husband fooling around with another woman. She couldn’t see the woman’s face in the video, only their naked bodies entangled with each other. But Colton Silverton’s face was clearly visible.

Having shared a bed for so many years, Arwen was very familiar with Colton’s body structure. At a glance, she knew it was Colton Silverton himself. She immediately fainted from anger. The house staff sent her to the hospital. When she woke up, she rushed back home.

Colton, feeling guilty, had bought her a diamond necklace to please and make up for Arwen. Seeing Arwen return, he smiled and said, “Come over here and see what gift I’ve prepared for you.”

Arwen clenched her hands tightly by her sides, her fists trembling uncontrollably. She knew that men could be unfaithful and that they could get tired of the old and seek the new, but after so many years, she didn’t think her husband would betray her. Even if she didn’t put in any effort to maintain their relationship, he still had feelings for her. After all, they had spent more than half their lives together.

But who would have expected this to happen.

It made her feel so disgusted. A husband’s infidelity was the most revolting thing in this world!

How could she bear it any longer?

Colton approached with a delicate gift box in hand and noticed Arwen’s unusually pale complexion. Concerned, he asked, “Are you feeling tired? Your face doesn’t look right. Should we go to the hospital and have you checked out?”

Before he could finish his sentence, Arwen summoned all her strength and slapped him across the face with a crisp and resounding smack.

Colton was momentarily stunned, then his eyes turned red. “Arwen, what are you doing?!”

He was a man.

How could his face be slapped so easily?!

A man’s face was his dignity, his honor.

Arwen sneered, “What did you do? Don’t you know it yourself?”

Colton felt guilty. “What nonsense are you talking about? What do I have to be guilty about? Look, this is the diamond necklace I bought for you…”

“Colton, you cheat on me with other women, and buying me something is supposed to make up for it?” Arwen, a strong-willed woman, burst into tears. She felt so wronged, so stifled. “I’ve devoted myself to this family, to our son, to you. And in the end, all I get is betrayal?!”

Arwen grabbed Colton’s collar like a madwoman. At this point, she didn’t care about appearances anymore. She just wanted to ask him, “How could you betray me?!”

Colton knew that his affair with Elara had been exposed. But he wasn’t panicked.

“I was just fooling around…”

“Fooling around?” Arwen’s face turned pale. “Can I go find a man to fool around with too?”

Colton’s face turned cold. “Don’t go too far. You just hit me, and I didn’t retaliate. Is it okay to casually slap a man’s face?”

Arwen felt heartbroken, devastated. She wanted to stab Colton to death right now. Colton’s patience was wearing thin, and the sight of Arwen’s ferocious expression was truly ugly. He looked at Arwen who was crying and sobbing, without any pity, only a faint disgust.

“You’re not young anymore, why are you crying? Aren’t you afraid Thorne will see you when he comes back?” Colton had no mood to console her. He knew consoling wouldn’t work, she had to process it on her own. “Rest assured, I still want you and this family. When I’m done playing around, I’ll come back.”

Arwen laughed coldly a few times.

Done playing around?

Then what was she?

What did he take her for?

“Aren’t you afraid Thorne will find out? I think you’ve completely lost your sense of shame. How would your son see you if he knew you’re not serious anymore just because you’re getting older?”

Well, Thorne already knew, and now Colton felt relieved.

“He’s known for a while.”

“What did you say?” Arwen clutched her chest, feeling suffocated. She couldn’t breathe. Thorne knew, and he never told her?

She was betrayed by her husband and her son?

Her face turned ashen, unable to catch her breath.

Colton was annoyed. He had been honest his whole life, and it was just a woman, wasn’t it? Did she have to react like this?

Not wanting to neglect his wife, and because they had lived together for half a lifetime, he picked her up and took her to the hospital. As he reached the entrance, he ran into Thorne, who had just returned.

Thorne saw the unconscious Arwen and asked, “What happened to my mom?”

Colton replied irritably, “She’s gone mad.”

“That’s not right.” Thorne knew Arwen wouldn’t just argue with Colton for no reason.

Colton still had a handprint on his face. Thorne quickly made the connection. “My mom found out?”

Colton couldn’t be bothered to answer and just walked away. Thorne was angry too, but Arwen’s well-being was more important right now. He had the car keys in his hand and immediately went to the car, saying, “Get in my car.”

Arwen woke up soon after they arrived at the hospital. After an examination, they found that it was due to a rush of blood caused by anger, but such anger wasn’t good for her heart. The doctor advised her not to get too emotionally worked up.

How could Arwen not be angry now?

How could she bear it?

“Mom…”

“You knew too?” Before Thorne could finish his sentence, Arwen interrupted him.

“… Yes.” Thorne reluctantly replied.

Arwen’s face turned pale again, and she pointed at Thorne, trembling. “You knew and didn’t tell me. Do you also think your father did the right thing?”

“No.” Thorne quickly explained, “I accidentally saw them at the mall. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to upset you. I was trying to figure out a way to handle the situation before telling you.”

Arwen felt a slight relief in her heart, at least her son was on her side. But the thought of Colton taking that wretched woman to the mall ignited her anger again. The betrayed anger was not something that could be easily extinguished.

“So you bumped into them at the mall?” Arwen shot a sharp gaze at Colton. “What did you buy her?”

Colton glanced at his son, thinking he wouldn’t speak up.

“Nothing…”

“Speak up!” Before Colton could finish his sentence, Arwen threw her pillow at him.

Colton took a direct hit, his face turning black. “Fine, since you want to know, I won’t hide it anymore. I took her to many places, bought her many things, spent a lot of money on her. She’s young, beautiful, understanding… a thousand times better than you. Are you satisfied…?”

“You, you…”

Arwen was so enraged that she couldn’t catch her breath.
