“Don’t keep asking, just focus on your work. By the way, I’ve arranged another surgery for you. Get ready, I’ll take you to meet the patient later,” Sivin Peters said.

Freya still wanted to know how things were resolved and asked again, “How was this matter resolved?”

“I won’t tell you. I just don’t want to. Trust me, the director trusts you too. Now that the matter is over, just concentrate on working under me.” Sivin Peters said.

Since Sivin Peters had put it that way, Freya couldn’t continue pressing for answers. She remained silent and said, “Okay, I’ll go prepare.”

Sivin Peters smiled. “Go ahead.”

At noon, Ronan came to find Freya.

“What happened? Where did Liora go?” he asked anxiously.

Freya said, “The matter has been resolved.”

“How was it resolved?” Ronan asked.

Freya shrugged. “I don’t know either.”

Ronan paused.

“Your hospital is quite something. It made me, a hero, useless,” Ronan complained. “I was planning to find a false witness to prove that you didn’t push her. Since there’s no surveillance at the staircase, she claimed you pushed her without any evidence. I was going to find someone to prove that you didn’t push her. She can’t find evidence to prove our ‘witness’ didn’t go to the staircase. That way, it would have helped you out.”

Freya couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

“That’s your solution?”

“Well, isn’t it good?” Ronan seemed quite confident.

“No, it’s not. Your mother is being discharged from the ICU today. I saw her, she’s recovering well. But the later stage of care is also important. You should take good care of her.”

Ronan expressed his gratitude. “I know. Thank you for that.”

“I’ve already told you, I’m a doctor, that’s what I should do…”

“No, I wanted to help you with the Liora incident, but I couldn’t do anything. So, I owe you a favor. You saved my mom’s life. How about we have dinner together tonight?”

“I’m busy.” Freya refused decisively.

Ronan persisted, “If you don’t agree, I’ll bother you every day.”

“Are you crazy?” She turned and walked away, warning him with a glance over her shoulder, “Don’t follow me and interfere with my work. If you really want to thank me, just stay away from me.”

Was he really that unlikeable?

“Freya, am I a lion, are you afraid of be eaten by me?” he shouted.

Freya quickened her pace to get away. Once she entered the operating room, Ronan couldn’t find anyone to bother her. The surgery this time was extremely risky and lasted for seven to eight hours.

When Freya came out of the operating room, she was exhausted. She sat down in a chair and drank water in big gulps. Sivin Peters walked over and sat next to her. “Though you’re young, you’re the most talented person I’ve ever seen and the most talented person I’ve ever trained. Given time, your future is limitless.”

Freya quickly put down the water bottle and said, “Thanks to your guidance.”

“No,” Sivin Peters said gravely, “Although I want to guide you, if you didn’t have the ability, I wouldn’t have entrusted you with this difficult surgery. Because I know you can handle it.”

“Thank you.” She lowered her head slightly. She was delighted to be recognized by Sivin Peters.

Sivin Peters patted her shoulder. “Don’t think that because I praise you, you can slack off. Keep working hard. Anyone I’ve trained must become a renowned doctor.”

After stretching for a while, Freya prepared to leave work. Ronan came over again, like a persistent pest. “Let me walk you home.”

Freya simply ignored him.

He persisted, “If you don’t agree, I’ll keep appearing in front of you every day and annoy you.”

Freya frowned.

Was this guy mentally unstable?

“If you do that, I’ll be angry.” Freya’s face turned serious.

A voice came from not far away. Freya looked up. When she saw the person standing there, she froze for a moment, then ran over in the next second.
