Chapter 239 Joan Nash
Throughout the conversation, Freya showed no interest in what they were talking about.
Seeing that she wasn’t being nosy and remained composed, Eric Lowe said, “Alright, I’ll bring her tomorrow.”
“I’ll make arrangements in advance. She will be the first one to undergo the examination in the morning. I understand your concerns, so I will minimize her contact with others.” Sivin Peters said.
“Okay, then I’ll leave this matter to you,” Eric Lowe stood up, and Sivin Peters walked him to the door.
Sivin returned shortly after. Freya still hadn’t asked anything. Satisfied, Sivin asked, “Aren’t you curious?”
“I am curious, but I also know that it’s not right to pry into other people’s secrets.”
Sivin smiled, opened a drawer, and took out the patient file that Freya had organized for him last time. When Freya saw the file, her eyes widened. The patient in the file looked very similar to Elijah’s mother. So, the ‘she’ that Sivin Peters and the man named Eric Lowe were talking about earlier must be the person in the file. Last time, she only paid attention to the people mentioned on it and didn’t notice the illness.
“What’s her illness?” she asked.
Sivin replied, “She doesn’t have an illness.”
“No illness?” Freya was curious. If she doesn’t have an illness, why does she need to come for a follow-up visit? And why is there a medical record?
Moreover, this medical record wasn’t stored in the hospital’s computer system. Only Sivin Peters had a copy.
“This is someone else’s private matter. I can’t casually tell you, and you shouldn’t pry,” Sivin Peters said.
Freya nodded, saying, “I understand.”
“Go and check who is on the early shift in the CT room tomorrow morning, and also, you have a surgery in the afternoon.” Sivin instructed.
Freya agreed. With her hands in the pockets of her white coat, she headed towards the CT room. On the way, she saw Jack and Deck talking as they walked towards the inpatient department. They must be going to visit Colton Silverton. Freya seemed to have heard them mention Elijah, so she hid around the corner to eavesdrop on their conversation.
“Elijah went to Country M. He just came back yesterday. Jack, do you think Joan Nash could still be alive?” Deck found it unlikely.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“Since there’s no one left in her family, could it be a woman who looks a lot like Joan Nash?”
Jack didn’t know either, and he said, “Well, who knows? Logically speaking, she couldn’t possibly be alive. Maybe, as you said, she’s just a woman who looks a lot like Joan Nash and has no connection to Elijah’s mother.”
He didn’t care whether Joan Nash was alive or not. What he was grateful for was, “Thankfully, we managed to keep Thorne. Even though Elijah has emptied the company, it’s still there, so there’s still a chance.”
“Yeah, if it wasn’t for Elijah’s willingness to make a deal, the company would be done for, and Thorne would end up with a huge debt.” Deck sighed. “By the way, Arwen and Colton’s divorce papers were taken care of before Arwen’s execution. Now Arwen is no longer considered part of our Silverton family. The Becker family will take care of the body.”
Jack didn’t say anything. Now, the Silverton family was falling apart, destined to decline.
“Now, I only hope that Thorne will succeed.” Jack had placed all his hopes on Thorne.
Elijah had the ability but he would never work for the Silverton family again. Things had reached a point where there was no chance of recovery.
“Can Colton be discharged from the hospital now?” Deck asked.
Jack replied, “Probably.”
Thinking about his two sons, one dead and one disabled. Jack couldn’t help but blame himself. “It’s all my fault.”
It was because of his decisions that things had turned out so badly.
“It’s not your fault, sir.” Deck reassured him.
They gradually walked away, and Freya emerged from around the corner.
“Could the Joan Nash they were talking about be referring to Elijah’s mother?” she wondered.
