Chapter 355
Chapter 355
"Yes." Upon hearing this, Jayson took the opportunity to say, "President Holland, in fact, Miss Chariott
is not happy with this, but she can't stop your mother..."
"I see," Skylar sternly replied.
Skylar also knew that the reason Lillian dared to do this was most likely because she had received
Anthony's approval.
Lillian may be someone who liked to create a fuss over the smallest of matter, but she didn't have the
ability to do such a thing as kidnapping a child without Anthony’s consent.
Thank the heavens that Hendric was her grandson. Lilian wouldn't go too far with him.
After Hendric went to the boarding school, Coralie suddenly felt empty. She could only go to Lisa and
ask when she could go back to Togsom Accounting Firm to work.
It had already been three or four months since she was made to leave.
Lisa agreed to help her ask around regarding the matter.
Coralie had nothing else to do, so she went to look for Xenia, who only went to work just so she could
pass time, to come out for dinner.
Harvey was not with them, so they naturally went to a restaurant specializing in spicy food.
Upon meeting each other, Coralie then told Xenia the issue regarding Lillian having forced Hendric to
go to a boarding kindergarten.
Xenia frowned after listening to her. "My aunt's child is also there. She went to primary school. Now she
is in junior high school. She has applied to study abroad for high school."
"Really? How's the child?" Coralie asked.
Hearing that Xenia's family also had someone attending Royal Pre-School, Coralie hurried to ask her
about it.
Perhaps she was too worried about Hendric. Lately, it had gotten to the point where Coralie had been
dreaming that Hendric was crying in the kindergarten as he looked for her.
"I don't know. My aunt and uncle-in-law like to travel around a lot and they never really cared about the
child. I have only met her once. I even have a better relationship with the child as compared to her
relationship with her parents."
Xenia said as she enjoyed her meal.
Coralie grew even more worried after hearing that. "Is it possible that Hendric would not be close to me
anymore?"
"I don't know. Think about it, is it possible for such a little child to miss someone whom they only meet
every half a month? Your mother-in-law is so cruel."
Xenia shook her head as she remarked.
She had recognized that Lillian was Coralie's mother-in-law.
"Alas, what can I do? If I don't agree with her, I won't be able to see Hendric." Coralie could barely eat
anything after listening to Xenia's words.
"Then why don't you get Skylar to talk to Lillian?" Xenia glanced at her.
"Yeah, let's wait for Skylar to come back." Coralie nodded.
Coralie didn't want to trouble Skylar.
After the meal, Xenia took Coralie to buy some clothes. Coralie had thought Xenia was going to buy
clothes for herself, but she noticed that Xenia took her to look at men's clothing.
"What are you doing?" Coralie asked in confusion.
"I am buying them for Harvey!" Xenia said as a matter-of-factly, "You have a good eye for a married
young woman. Help me pick."
Coralie asked in surprise, "Have the both of you already reached the stage of buying clothes for each
other? How long has it been? Did Dr. Felton confess his love for you?"
Xenia pouted. "Nonsense, every time he asked me out, he always wore the same few clothes with old
fashioned designs. I can't stand it anymore. I asked him about it, and do you know what he said?"
"What's wrong?" Coralie asked.
"He said that he wears a white coat most of the time so there was no need to wear other clothes."
After hearing Xenia's words, Coralie teased her, "Are you saying that you are embarrassed to be seen
going out with him?"
"Yeah, he will be my boyfriend in the future. If he goes out wearing old clothes, he may not feel
embarrassed, but I will!" As Xenia spoke, she picked up an item of clothing, handed it to Coralie and
asked, "What do you think of this?"
"Well, you have such good taste. You don't need to ask me." Coralie nodded and said, "But he hasn't
confessed to you even after being on multiple dates?"
"That's why I mentioned that he's a blockhead. We have done almost everything a couple would do yet
he still does not want to confess his feelings," Xenia replied.
The more Xenia thought about it, the angrier she became.
The two of them selected a few items of clothing and asked the clerk for a receipt. They then
proceeded to head to another shop.
Coralie looked at the clothes that Xenia had bought. One single shirt was worth a few thousand dollars,
and the pants were also thousands of dollars. Then she said, "You're not going easy even when it
comes to buying clothes for him."
"Of course," Xenia answered, "In fact, he also gave me a lot of things. Look at my bag; it's a gift from
him."
Xenia was holding a small white handbag with pearly luster on its skin. It looked very beautiful, but
Coralie did not know how much that bag was worth.
Seeing that Coralie was staring at the bag but did not comment anything, Xenia knew that she
definitely did not understand. She said, "This bag looks very ordinary, doesn't it? It costs 80,000 dollars.
I casually mentioned wanting it, but he actually bought it for me. I was really surprised when he bought
it."
"This bag alone costs 80,000 dollars?"
"That's right. It's not the price that shocked me, but rather it was the fact that the bag is impossible to
obtain. I don't even know where he bought it," Xenia exclaimed.
Xenia was in a good mood as she looked at her bag.
The two of them walked to the next store. Just as they were about to enter, they saw a man and a
woman picking out clothes from the corner of the counter. The woman looked very familiar to them.
It was Valerie.
The man next to her was dark and slim. He looked like a ruffian who didn't fit in with the whole mall.
The man was checking himself out in the mirror with a suit on, while Valerie was standing beside him
impatiently.
"Who is that person? Why does he look like a laborer?"
Xenia commented in a straightforward manner.
Coralie looked at the man from the side and murmured, "This man looks so familiar. I seem to have
seen him somewhere before." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"You've met him before? He can't possibly be from a rich family, he doesn't seem like it," Xenia
remarked.
Xenia felt that since Coralie was Skylar's wife, the people she had met shouldn't be out of their circles
either.
"Moreover, if he was an ordinary person, how could he get Valerie to accompany him to buy clothes?"
Xenia wondered aloud.
"No... Let me try to remember..." Coralie trailed off.
Coralie stared at the man who was walking back and forth in front of the mirror, but no matter how hard
she tried, she couldn't remember who he was.
After a while, the man returned to the locker room, took off his suit and put his clothes back on. He then
went to the counter to pay.
"He is definitely not a rich man. Has Valerie stooped so low that she accompanied someone like this to
buy clothes?"
Xenia's tone was filled with disdain as she voiced her opinion.
As Coralie watched the man in his original clothes, she felt that he was really familiar.
Right then, the clerk handed them the receipt and Valerie and the man went out. When they came out,
they happened to run into Coralie and Xenia.
When Valerie saw them, her impatient face instantly changed to fear. She pushed the man away at
once, glanced at Coralie uncomfortably, and hurried away.
When the man was pushed away by Valerie, he was very upset. "Why did you push me?" He asked.
Coralie and Xenia stood there and watched as the man caught up with Valerie. He wanted to grab her
waist, but he was harshly pushed away by Valerie.
Xenia shook her head upon seeing what had happened. "Hey, what's wrong with Valerie? Has the
value of her body dropped? I'm afraid the man's clothes adds up to no more than 300 dollars."
Due to their close proximity from before, and the man's actions, Coralie immediately remembered who
the man was. "So they really do know each other..." She muttered to herself.
