Chapter 200
BOOK 2
Rowan's POV
For the rest of that day, Harriette didn't let me go. After she finished her food in the car, we went to my apartment, where the king had stayed the last time he was around.
For the next few hours, I was buried inside her, kissing her and holding her. We took naps every two hours and I had to feed her at some points. We were like rabbits. I couldn't let go of her and she couldn't let go of me either.
We talked about Thorne and she told me he was looking for a document. Immediately she said that I knew the exact document Thorne was looking for. It wasn't my mom's, it was something I'd hidden a long time ago.
The following morning, I first went to meet the warriors to ask for an update and if they'd noticed any strange movement around the borders in recent days.
"We had five new refugees last night," Gideon informed me. We haven't had refugees in the past few days.
"What have you done about that?" I asked him.
"We left them at the building at the borders. We didn't want to bring them in without your permission," he answered.
Gideon's demeanor had changed a bit. I understood what was going on. With Alexander's presence in the pack, Gideon wouldn't have close access to Mika.
Alexander had always been fucking protective of Mika even before he found out they were mates. Finding out only increased how protective he was of Mika. Alexander wasn't just possessive. He was also aggressively possessive.
"Have
you
informed Mika about this?" I asked him.
"She'd been busy," he responded as though he didn't want to.
"Okay. Keep them there till tomorrow. I'll check up on them by then,"
"Yes, Alpha,"
"And Gideon, I think you should move on from Mika. You knew from the start that it was a lost cause,"
I advised him.
He looked shocked. "I don't know what you're talking about,"
I smirked cockily. Yeah, he did and it would be best for him to take that advice. He should've understood that Mika was using him to get over her painful nights. I wasn't in support of what Mika was doing or did but he would hurt less if he let go at that point.
As I walked into the Alpha's building, Reina was waiting by the stairs.
"Took you long enough, Prince Charming,"
She said once she saw me.
"I'm sorry I kept you waiting, Cinderella,”
She laughed and I kissed her.

"I didn't know you would come here," I told her.
"I woke up and I didn't see you,"
"I left you a note,"
"I saw it and that was why I knew to come to wait here for you," she was clingy and I loved it.
"Good girl," I whispered in her ear and she blushed.
I opened my office's door and to say I was shocked was an understatement. Thorne had scattered the entire room and almost nothing was left unturned.
“Shit! I didn't even know it was this bad. What was he looking for exactly?"
"A document," I answered her.
I managed to get across the room to the painting behind my table. I removed it from the wall and unlocked the safe to bring out the document. While I did this, Harriette looked at me with shock on her face.
"How didn't he know it was there?"
"I told Mika to hide it for me and she did. She hid it in a place where Thorne wouldn't ever look,"
She frowned, she didn't totally grasp what I'd just said.
"He's not a big fan of artwork," I said.
"Ooh."
As soon as Mika told me she hid it where Thorne wouldn't ever look, I knew exactly what she was talking about. Right in my hand was the document, regarding the man I never wanted to think about.
I'd hid it away because it would keep triggering Thorne and the more it did, the more he would want to kill Mika.
It was information about her father. The same man who abused me in every way you can think of. Physically, psychologically, and emotionally. And sexually.
He called me puffyface because that was the face I made whenever he ...
I stopped thinking once I realized my anger was about to worsen.
I gripped the document in my hand, almost ruining it. I still can't say this was the exact reason why I had that document. with me but still, I had it.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Are you okay, Rowan?" Reina came to my side and I kissed her temple. Her touch calmed me down.
I was feeding Thorne with too much of my anger and he would surface if I continued like that.
"What's wrong?" Reina asked again. I turned to her and shook my head.
“Nothing, baby. I just remembered something,”
"Do you want me to call someone to clean this up?" She asked.
She was already picking up some items from the floor, dusting them, and putting them back on the table. I held her hand to
stop her.

"I'll find some guys to fix this."
She nodded. I looked around the room again. That was the side effect of having Thorne around. Things get destroyed and I'm left to pick up his
mess.
"Can I ask you some questions, baby?"
Reina nodded.
"Do you know who this person is?"
I opened the document and showed her. I was supposed to ask about the woman with the scar first but I decided to start with the one that I have his image.
The look on her face told me she knew who he was. I prayed at that moment that she wouldn't lie to me.
She nodded slowly.
"I know him. He has a so and he's the reason why..."
I had to interrupt her even though I was interested in knowing more about what she was about to say.
"He doesn't have a son," I answered.
"No, he does. His name is ...,"
I shook
my
head in disbelief. "He doesn't. This is Mika's father and he only has daughters," I told her.
"He's the Alpha of the pack where I came from and Rowan, he has an only son named Luke,"
