A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret

Chapter 202

BOOK 2: CHAPTER 72-

Rowan's POV

I could sense the tension in the air. It was so thick you could slice through it with a knife. I'd never seen Reina so confrontational to someone more superior, but I knew if Mika said one more wrong word, Reina would attack her.

I put my hand on the small of her back, and she relaxed into me. She turned to stare at me, and I smirked.

"Let's get out of here." I told her. She nodded, agreeing.

I let her walk ahead of me as we left the room. Mika, on the other hand, didn't do anything. She kept on staring at the file and back to Reina almost at the same time. I still couldn't figure but if Mika was acting like a hypocrite or if she was really in disbelief and denial of what her father was capable of

"Do you know anyone called Zack?" I asked Reina as soon as we got out of the building.

She shook her head. "No, who is he?"

"He's someone I'm looking for. What about a woman with a scar on her face?"

"How b

big is the scar?" She asked me

I took one deep breath. "Mika said you drew her once."

She nodded slowly. "I know her. She raised me,"

That was all I needed to hear. Things were beginhing to add up at that moment.

I didn't say anything else because I didn't have to. I held her hand and we walked away.

"Rowan, can I talk to you?" Xander suddenly called out from behind me but I ignored him.

"Rowan, come on, we need to talk," he urged but I didn't stop. I could see him closing in fast, nearly running to catch up with

ІПЕ,

I had my reasons for trying to ignore Xander. I was sure he wanted to have a conversation about the file he gave me but the fact remains that I would rather leave life as it is. I never knew my mother for such a long time. So, why bother now? Reading about her wouldn't help me control my Lycan

"I'm sorry about what you heard just now," he suddenly apologized.

Wait! Wasn't he trying to talk about my mother?

"Which one?" I finally stopped in my tracks and asked him.

He met up with us. "The fact that I knew what happened to you and I kept mute was stupid. I'm sorry."

I raised my eyebrow. Was he for real right now?

The moment Mika walked into my pack, guilt-ridden and sorry for what happened to me, I knew he also knew. Why was he apologizing after so many years?

"I never expected anything better from a bastard like you. So, what are you talking about?"

He became dumbfounded. "Even if you have no good expectations of me, I should still apologize

I threw my hands in my pocket and smirked at him. "I don't want your apology and whatever this show is, I don't appreciate

I told him.

And about the throne, I never wanted it. It's rightfully yours and I believe you should go for it. Yes, my mother wanted me to be king and she really did some things to try but I always knew who I wanted to be and royal affairs was never a part of it,"

1 shrugged. “Whatever, Alexander. If you want to be king or not, it's not my business. I've never cared about what you want to do with your life and I still don't,"

"You're trying to avoid all kinds of conversations with me, he stated.

"Isn't it fucking obvious? I'm even trying my possible best to talk to you right now,"

He suddenly smirked. Whenever Alexander smirked during a heated conversation, that meant he was about to do something stupid.

Alexander walked around me to touch Reina.

"What if I steal her..."

I didn't allow him to finish his words when I attacked him in the most barbaric manner possible. I grabbed his neck and threw him to the floor. Before he could get up, I attacked him again.

“Listen carefully, Alexander, you can say all sorts of bullshit to me. You can get all bratty, all stupid but the moment you try to lay a finger on Reina, I'll kill you. I have new rules for you as long as you stay here. Don't touch her, don't look at her, and don't go near her. If you defy my rules, I'll kill you,"

I lifted my head to see I'd successfully gained the attention of some pack members.

Reina was already behind, her hand softly placed on my shoulder. I stood up and held her hand.

"What's going on, Alpha?"

The head of the warriors walked up to us. I'd just sent a mind link to him and I wasn't expecting him to get here so fast.

"If you see this young man near her again, kill him on the spot,"

1 commanded.

The head of warriors went silent as he gazed at me with shock.

“ARE YOU FUCKING DEAF? I spat.

T'll do as you commanded,"

“Good!” I answered as I pulled Reina out of there. Whatever games they played with me should end with me. No one from the palace or my past should dare try that with Reina. The thought of them being near her or touching her scared me. If they hurt her too, I'll never forgive myself.

I love her and I would die before I allow her to get hurt.

She suddenly stopped before I could get to my office.

"I want to stay there for a while," she suddenly announced, poining at the painting room.

I turned to her.

“Are you mad at me because of what happened?"

She shook her head. "I was shocked but I'm not mad. I'm sure you had good reasons to have attacked your brother like that

I nodded.

"I don't always have good reasons,"

She shrugged. "I still don't care,"

Reina stood on her r toes and kissed me. "See you later,"

"If you don't come home soon. I'll come haul your ass from there.

Fine, Prince Caveman,

A stupid smile crept to my face. I still had the smile on until she walked into the art room and a pack member kept staring at

I glared at the pack member once I noticed she was staring. She quickly bowed and walked away.

Once I got to my office, I put out a call to Alpha Dadius, Reina's father. I told him everything we just found out

"Why don't you reach out to your father first and let's see? He was the first one to call our attention to this illegal pack and what they were doing to those girls,

Alpha Darius suggested.

"Mika's father is the King's best friend. He'll be in doubt and I don't need that energy right now,"

I told him.

I was speaking from experience, nothing more. The first time something bad happened to me, I ran to the King to tell him what Mika's father had done. But in the end, he didn't believe me. He trusted his best friend over his own child. That only made the abuse worse because Mika's father knew I had no one on my side.

"What do you suggest we do then, Alpha Rowan?"Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

"Why don't we pay this Red-Eye pack a visit?" I asked. I had always tried to avoid my past but I didn't have to do that anymore. I have people on my side now and most importantly, have Reina on my side.

"Just exactly what I was thinking" Alpha Darius answered.
