The hand around her waist was burning hot. With its warmth radiating through her, it made her body weak and unsteady.

"Is he gone yet?" Sierra whispered.

Suddenly, Theo lowered his gaze, and their eyes met.

The tension in the air grew silently, like a subtle, enticing fragrance wrapping around them, pulling them closer, and creating an undeniable connection between them.

His eyes gradually grew deeper, the heat becoming so intense as if a fire was burning beneath the surface.

"Is he still not gone?" Sierra blurted out, desperate to break the tension.

Theo caught sight of her flushed face-so red it looked like she might combust- and finally decided to let her off the hook. His voice, however, was noticeably rougher.

"He just left."

Hearing that, she immediately pushed against his chest, forcing herself out of his embrace and trying to break free from his hold.

Theo didn't stop her. He just watched as she quickly put some distance between them and sat stiffly at his side. Her ears were practically glowing red, making the corners of his lips curve slightly.

"Even if Benson is here, Uncle Theo, you don't need to..." Sierra started to speak with frustration, but midway through, she suddenly paused, gently biting her lip and unable to finish the sentence.

Theo raised a brow, playing dumb. "What?" His voice was low and husky, teasing.

Sierra's face burned hotter. She forced herself to stay composed. "I didn't do anything wrong. There was no reason to hide from him."

"My bad," Theo murmured, the deep timbre of his voice brushing against her like

a slow, lingering touch. "Guess I got a little tense."

Sierra looked up, and for a brief moment, she found herself caught in the depth of his gaze.

Unlike his usual cold, unreadable expression, there was something softer there-something warm, like rippling waves beneath the surface. The flicker of emotion in his eyes felt like it could pull her in, wrap her up, and keep her there forever

She suddenly felt a rush of unease-a sense of awkwardness she couldn't shake.

"Uncle Theo, men and women

should have boundaries. Even

though you're my elder, we still need

to keep our distance. If the woman

you actually like sees this, she'd be upset. I hope you'll be more mindful in the future and keep things appropriate."

Sierra said those words solemnly. Then, she quickly opened the car door, stepped out, and hurried away, leaving Theo with his brows furrowed in confusion.

The person Theo had always liked was only her.

Adrian, watching Sierra practically flee the scene, raised a brow as he got into the car. "Mr. Gray, what just happened? Why did Ms. Shaw take off like that?"

Theo leaned back, his expression unreadable. "She thinks I have a woman I like." His voice carried a hint of frustration. "Have I not made myself obvious enough?"

Adrian blinked, then frowned slightly. "Wait... doesn't Ms. Shaw already know you like her?"

Theo's gaze sharpened. "Oh?"

Seeing his interest, Adrian quickly explained, "That day when we took Ms. Shaw home from the hospital, she mentioned that she knew you had someone you liked. I thought she had already figured it out Maybe... she misunderstood and thinks you're interested in someone else?"
