Chater 14
Chapter 14 Getting Angry
Sophie's face darkened slightly, her fingers intertwining nervously.
Benson was lost in thought as memories resurfaced. Whenever he drank too much, Sierra would show up with a special hangover remedy and oatmeal porridge.
His chronic stomach issues, which even doctors said were difficult to cure, had improved significantly thanks to Sierra's care. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt stomach pain.
Sierra loved him so much. How could she possibly fall for another man?
As he recalled the scene from last night, Benson picked up his phone. Seeing all the unanswered calls glaring back at him was like pouring fuel on a fire. Sophie's eyes glimmered as she spoke softly. "Mr. Gray, I saw Sierra arrive at work just now. Maybe I should return the desk to her."
"Not unless she apologizes to you," Benson replied coldly before pausing for a moment. "Bring her to my office," he ordered.
A faint smirk tugged at the corners of Sophie's lips as she nodded and left the room.
"Sierra, how's the new desk? Getting used to it?" Sophie crossed her arms as she entered Sierra's office and shut the door. Her tone was smug and condescending.
Sierra looked up with an indifferent gaze and ignored her.
Unbothered by the silence, Sophie's gaze fell on Sierra's injured arm. Her smile widened as she spoke in a low voice.
"Sierra, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to press your wound yesterday. That must have hurt."
Sierra finally stopped sorting her documents, fixing her with a frosty gaze. “You think I can't see through your petty tricks?"
Sophie didn't flinch. Instead, she raised her head proudly, her eyes shining with smug arrogance. “Even if you can see through me, what does it change? Mr. Gray doesn't care.
"You got hurt, and he didn't even ask how you were. Sierra, you're smart. Can't you see that his heart has never been with you?"
Sierra's fingers clenched for a moment before releasing.
Sophie pressed on, her voice dripping with malice. “Last night, Mr. Gray personally took me home and stayed at my place for quite a while. You know what happens when a man and a woman spend time alone, right?"
“So what? Are you trying to flaunt the fact that you've been someone's one-night conquest?"
Sierra's expression remained impassive. Her voice was cold, tinged with subtle mockery.
"Sophie, I thought you were just reckless, but you're rotten to the core. You're narrow-minded and pride yourself on being a homewrecker and someone's plaything, Is your body really that cheap?”
“L.....” Sophie's smile vanished. She opened her mouth to retort, but Sierra cut her off sharply.
“Shut up. Your words stink, and your voice is unbreakable. If your face is itching for a slap, just say the word. I'd be happy to oblige."
Her voice was calm but carried an undeniable weight.
"Just because I chose to ignore you before doesn't mean I don't have my breaking point. Remember this. Even a cornered rabbit bites-but I was never a rabbit."
Her cold, resolute words echoed through the room like a final verdict.
A tremor ran through Sophie's chest as she found herself unable to meet Sierra's piercing gaze. For a moment, she was completely speechless. Sierra turned and left without sparing her another glance.noveldrama
Only when the door clicked shut did Sophie exhale shakily. Her face flushed with anger as she clenched her fists, watching Sierra's retreating figure with
bitter resentment.
In the CEO's office, Sierra pushed open the door and walked in. "Mr. Gray, what do you need from me?"
Benson frowned the moment he heard her distant and formal tone.
"Sierra, what did you just call me?”
What do you think?
