Chapter 15 Misjudged Him

Sierra lifted her gaze indifferently and repeated, “Mr. Gray."

Benson let out a cold scoff, his voice thick with restrained fury. “Sierra, is this how you plan to provoke me? Do you think you can force me to bow my head and admit defeat?"

A glimmer of disappointment flickered in Sierra's eyes. She had nothing left to say.

"I've completed all my work. Here is my resignation letter." As she said that, she took out a piece of paper and placed it on Benson's desk.

His expression darkened further as he glanced at the letter. He grabbed it, crushed it into a ball, and threw it to the floor.

"I don't accept it," he said through gritted teeth, his voice thick with barely contained rage.

Sierra's expression remained calm as she replied, “Whether you accept it or not, I'm leaving. I'm merely informing you."

"Sierra!” Benson slammed his hand on the desk and stood up. His eyes blazed with fury as they locked onto hers. “You've wanted to break up with me for a long time, haven't you? It's because you've already found someone new."

Sierra frowned, her voice low but filled with disdain. “What nonsense are you spouting?"

"I saw it with my own eyes. Last night, a man was holding your hand as you left. Tell me, who was he?"

Last night? Sierra's eyes flickered. So Benson had seen her leaving with Theo. No wonder he had called her so many times. But if he hadn't recognized Theo, this conversation would have taken an entirely different turn.

Benson's suspicion deepened as he watched her remain silent. He strode forward, grabbed her wrist tightly, and demanded, "Speak! Who was that man?" Sierra winced as pain shot through her wrist. She struggled several times to free herself, but he wouldn't let go. Her bright eyes flared with anger. " Benson, let me go!"

“You're guilty, aren't you?” Benson's words came through gritted teeth, each one carrying a sting as sharp as a blade.

Nevertheless, Sierra took a deep breath, forcing down the rage building inside her. "I have nothing to say to you."noveldrama

"Nothing to say? Or afraid to say?" Benson roared.

“Sierra, you betrayed me and tried to pin the blame on Sophie and me, playing the innocent victim. You really know how to act!"

His voice grew sharper. "All these years, you've been dull and boring at my side. We've been together for so long, yet you wouldn't even give yourself to me. But secretly, you're cozying up to another man. How long have you been playing me for a fool?"

"Slap!"

The sharp crack of a slap echoed through the room.

Benson's head snapped to the side, and a red imprint bloomed on his cheek. Sierra's eyes burned with fury, her face flushed. Her hand still tingled from the impact.

He actually thought so low of her. He had humiliated her like this.

"Benson, I really misjudged you." Her words came out slowly but forcefully, each syllable filled with years of disappointment and a bitter sense of regret. “Then say it! Who was the man holding your hand?”

Benson turned back, his voice thundering as he gripped her shoulders tightly. His chest heaved with rage, and his breathing grew heavier as if the fire inside him was burning away every last shred of reason.

“It was someone kind enough to take me to the hospital!” Sierra's usually composed features contorted with anger, and her voice rose sharply.

“The hospital? Why would you need to go to the hospital?”

Benson's eyes narrowed with disbelief, as though her words were nothing more than a feeble excuse. So, he really never cared. She shoved him away and rolled up her sleeve, revealing her bandaged arm. The white gauze was slightly stained seeping blood. “You pushed me yourself and caused me to injure my hand. And after just two days, you've already forgotten?"
