Chapter 20 Blocked
“Have you explained the situation with the ring to Sierra?" Timothy asked.
“No,” Benson replied. “She hasn't apologized to me or Sophie yet and even mentioned breaking up. Why should I explain myself? Let's see how long she can hold out!"
Timothy frowned at his words. “Benson, you're too proud. Be honest with me—have you fallen for Sophie?”
Benson glanced at him, impatience clear in his voice. "No. Sophie lost her parents young and grew up in an orphanage. It's been tough for her to get where she is, and I sympathize with her.
"I treat her like a little sister. What's with you?"
Timothy let out a relieved sigh. "Good. But if you don't want to break up with Sierra, you need to talk to her and clear things up. Don't let it spiral out of control, or you'll regret it later.”
“Regret? Sierra and I have been together for so many years. I don't believe she'd really leave me. And even if we do break up, I won't be the one who regrets it!"
“Sure. Just keep telling yourself that." Timothy rolled his eyes, handing over his phone. "Hurry up and text Sierra. Just say you're drunk and ask her to pick you up."
Benson reluctantly took the phone, muttering, "I'm only doing this because of you. It doesn't mean I'm giving in."
"Yeah, yeah. Just send it," Timothy urged.
Benson found Sierra's WhatsApp contact and sent a message. However, a red exclamation mark popped up. Sierra had blocked him.
"Damn it!" Benson exploded, tossing the phone onto the ground. "Even if she begs on her knees to get back together, I might not forgive her!"
He then downed three glasses of liquor.
Timothy didn't try to stop him. He could see that Sierra was serious this time. Benson had truly messed up. It wouldn't be easy to win her back now. It was unclear who would be the one begging on the floor.
Timothy eventually dragged Benson back to his place.
Benson was jolted from his sleep in the middle of the night by a sharp pain in his stomach. He staggered out of bed and reached for his phone, instinctively dialing Sierra's number.
The only answer was the cold, robotic voice of an automated system. Sierra had blocked his number too. His temples were throbbing with anger. He took a deep breath and called the live-in housekeeper.
"Where's the medicine kit? My stomach is acting up."noveldrama
The housekeeper quickly retrieved the kit and found the stomach medicine, only to notice it had expired.
"Mr. Gray, the medicine has expired. I'll go buy some for you right away."
Benson frowned, recalling that he hadn't needed stomach medicine ever since Sierra had started helping him with his health. The pain was unbearable. His vision blurred, and he collapsed onto the bed.
"Mr. Gray..."
The housekeeper was halfway out the door when she heard a loud thud. She turned to find Benson unconscious on the bed. Panic surged as she scrambled to call an ambulance.
The next day, Sierra met Madison at a cafe.
"You've broken up with Benson?" Madison got straight to the point once she sat down.
Sierra nodded. "Yes. We broke up."
Madison scoffed.
"Hmph! You should've done that a long time ago." Then, a look of concern flashed across her face. "But does your family know?"
A shadow passed through Sierra's eyes, and she shook her head. "Not yet. I'm waiting for the right time." Chapter 21 The One She Likes
