Chapter 22 The Teacher's Disappointment
Jemima looked at Theo in disbelief. After all, he had everything-unparalleled looks and a flawless family background. It seemed that the girl he was pursuing was no ordinary person.
Still, seeing the reserved and quiet Theo smile like this was rare. He must have truly met someone who mattered to him.

"You sure have a lot of visitors, Aunt Jemima." Theo gestured to the fruit baskets and bouquets that filled most of the room.
"They're all my students. When they heard I was unwell, they insisted on visiting. The Marisol Cup selection is coming up soon, but none of them seem to be practicing seriously."
Jemima's smile faded suddenly, her expression turning somber as if recalling something painful.
She sighed deeply and said, "I once had a student who was the most promising and brilliant I'd ever taught. Her talent was beyond anything I'd seen, even rivaling yours and your mother's.
“I truly believed she was destined for greatness. But... unfortunately.......” Jemima's words trailed off, and a heavy sigh of regret escaped her lips.
"She was a genius. She understood whatever I said immediately, and we resonated on a level I rarely experienced with others.
"She could have achieved so much with the piano. But... she gave it all up. I was furious-furious that she didn't appreciate her talent, wasted what she had, and threw away years of hard work without a second thought."
Sierra stood frozen outside the hospital room, holding a bouquet and a box of pastries. Tears started flowing uncontrollably, and her heart was heavy with guilt. She had let Jemima down.
"Sierra?" A puzzled voice interrupted her thoughts.
Sierra quickly wiped her tears and turned to look at the girl. Her dry lips moved as she softly said, "Janice." "It's really you, Sierra! How dare you come here?"
Janice's face contorted with anger when she recognized Sierra. Her delicate features twisted with rage. Sierra bit her lip and lowered her head. "I heard Ms. Linden was in the hospital, so I came to see her."noveldrama
"You almost made my mother collapse from anger back then, and now you have the nerve to show up here? Leave!” Janice's voice was filled with fury, her eyes blazing with indignation.
"I didn't mean any harm. I truly just want to apologize. It was my mistake for leaving back then,” Sierra said sincerely.
But Janice wasn't willing to listen. She shoved Sierra, sending the bouquet and pastries scattering to the floor.
Sierra stumbled, her back hitting the hospital room door. Before she could fall, a hand caught her. She turned to see Theo.
"Thank you,” she whispered, quickly pulling away from his support to avoid drawing attention to herself.
“Sierra, get out! My mother and I don't want to see you!" Janice shouted, reaching to drag her away.
Theo positioned himself between Sierra and Janice and said calmly. “Janice, there's no need for this. Let's talk things through." "There's nothing to talk about with her!"
“Janice, enough!" Jemima's voice came from inside the room.
Janice shot Sierra one last furious glare before storming into the room.
Sierra turned toward the bed where Jemima was sitting. She bit her lip, lowered her gaze, and slowly walked forward.
She said with a deep bow, "I'm sorry, Ms. Linden."
