Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1409

Waverly lowered her gaze and unconsciously furrowed her beautiful brows as she thought to herself, "Oh, does he actually care? So, why give her up? Over some worthless rock?"

"Men."

A mischievous smile etched itself on his lips. All of a sudden, a shocked voice rang out, """Is this the legendary 'golden gem of the pyramid top'?

Mr. Andrews also chided in.

"Good eye! I happened upon it at the black market by chance, and I hear that Mr. Johnson has also been looking for this, yes? How does five million sound? The most expensive crystal we have in our records is only worth four million! But this is something precious to you, is it not?"

He had brought her here initially with good intentions, but as he looked at Waverly at this moment, he felt a strange fire burning within his chest and he could not afford to care so much anymore!

Wyatt's gaze fell on the table and he was visibly awestruck and dazed for a moment. "That's right, this was originally mine."

This was the token of love that he gave Raynee. It was a pair of natural crystals that he had acquired at a high price and had specially carved for her. The statue of the girl represented her, and in her hands, was a boy statue that was a representation of him. Although the crystals had not been polished into legend's most mysteriously magical crystal sphere, the two pieces combined formed a solid prototype. However, one had been stolen after he brought the crystals for a touchup. Though he spent many years searching for it, it was to no avail. With his faltering relationship with Raynee, he had always longed to see this crystal again.

Crystals were said to be spiritual, and in his heart, he believed the same about he and Raynee. Although she had nothing to say about losing one of the crystals, he always felt that having lost its counterpart was an ominous sign.

The design of the crystals was created based on a picture of her dancing, and it was carved to her appearance. The ocean-blue gems that were the eyes of the statue were even put there personally by him, making this a piece that was truly one of its kind!

And he wanted it back!

As the thought flashed across his mind, he turned sideways and quickly returned to his seat. At the same time, Waverly's fist was clenched tightly, anger evident in her eyes. However, she chose to remain silent as she sat down right next to him.

If a man was reliable, even a sow could climb a tree!

His actions and intentions were plain as day at this point!

The other two men exchanged glances and sat back blankly.

Mr. Andrews also understood that they must have spared his life. However, he knew that luck was on his side. Thus, before sitting down, he faked a smile and said,

"Come on brothers, give me some face. Don't gang up on me!"

As he said this, he also kicked the man standing closest to him.

Laughing dryly, the man pushed another young man on his left, and said with a hollow smile,

"Whoever dares try to cheat Mr. Andrews is asking for it! Don't you agree, Wilson?"

He nodded and echoed,

"We're here to accompany Mr. Johnson to study, and neither of us can afford to offend these two great masters. We are just here to keep the gentleman company! However, Mr. Andrews, I have to remind you that Mr. Johnson already has a brilliant track record at the gambling table for years; even my old man is impressed, so you'd best be careful!"

With a wave of his hand, the man across tried to lighten the atmosphere.

"Wilson, stop scaring Mr. Andrews! Everyone has their stroke of luck. Besides, his cardshuffling skills from years back may have gotten rusty, no?"

The implication was that it was much easier to cheat before, but times have definitely changed!

Wyatt just smiled without saying anything while Waverly just stood by and watched, waiting to see how all this would unfold for the two men. However, her fingers unconsciously reached into his palm, and the smile on her face was also laced with frostiness.

After a few rounds, Wyatt quickly and very skillfully won all the chips on Mr. Andrews' table. He wanted to save the face of his two friends, and through this, he had also successfully put a gag on Mr. Andrew's mouth. The man was welcomed to lose to his heart's content!

To be able to play hands like this, Wyatt was definitely a master at Black Jack!

Even though this was the biggest show of acknowledgement to Waverly, it still could not dissipate the anger in her heart.

Wyatt spread out his hands as he said, "My apologies, but it seems like I've won!"noveldrama

In other words, he was not playing anymore!

He rose and pulled Waverly onto her feet. Wyatt had just buttoned up his suit when a voice rang out, "Mr. Johnson, isn't it a little rude for you to leave after winning?"

Wyatt raised his gaze and heard Mr. Andrews say,

"Feel free to take the chips and all! I will keep my promise, but I want to gamble with her. If I lose again,

then I'll admit defeat! But if I win, you're leaving with me! I don't even know your name yet!"

The man's eyes were burning with rage, as if he were going to scald Waverly!

The young man sensed that Mr. Johnson's attitude towards Waverly was rather unusual. He tugged at his hand as he asked, "Mr. Andrews, you must have had too much to drink today."

Everyone knew that women, on Occasions like these, were just playthings or used purely for networking, purposes, so it was really rare to see something like this happen! At times, women were a representation of a man's dignity, especially at times like this. Even if they did not like the woman, they could not stand for something of theirs to be treated as such!

In a man's world, stealing came naturally, but so was playing the defensive!

Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed that day? Could he not see that Wyatt wanted to marry this

woman at all? Was he still insistent on stealing his prey?

Wyatt closed his mouth and his face fell.

The atmosphere remained tense.

The man still wanted to say more, but he could feel Mr. Andrew's body burning in anger. He lowered his gaze unconsciously, knowing that Mr. Andrews' emotions were spiraling out of control. He parted his lips slightly, but the words caught in his throat. He

unconsciously shifted his gaze and turned towards the exquisite woman across from him.

No woman had caused him to lose his composure thus far. It seemed this woman was his type!

At this moment, the man felt that they had made a mistake. They shouldn't have looked for women at such a place. They should have brought their own and dressed them to his preferences!

However, who would have thought that a lascivious man like him would fancy a conservative-looking woman?

Without even giving him a reply, Wyatt wrapped his arm around Waverly's waist. "Let's go!"

However, Waverly stayed rooted to her ground as she cried out, "Waverly. My name's Waverly Castle!" She was answering the man's question!

As she opened her mouth, she also hinted at something.

Even though her voice was soft, it may as well have been the roaring of thunder. Wyatt's pupils shrank, and everyone's eyes widened in disbelief. Mr. Andrews revealed a smile.

"Miss Castle, you truly are something. So beautiful and charming!"

The man's frivolousness and arrogance could be seen clearly from his generous praise.

She smiled teasingly, but Waverly scoffed to herself, "No matter how vulgar a man is, he can still be one

hell of a sweet-talker! Who would even know the real root of her name?"

Waverly, Waverly. Her mother

passed away not long after she was born. Therefore, her name bore the meaning of "grief and regret" and symbolized her father's ultimately longing for her mother. At the same time, as he saw her as a treasure, as well as a continuation of hero

mother's life, her father was

determined to protect her at all

costs. This was why he gave her a name that reflected how regret could be something of beauty, as well as something to be treasured.

As soon as Waverly moved, Wyatt grabbed her wrist and muttered quietly with a hint of urgency in his

voice, "Waverly, stop messing around!"

The next second, Waverly shoved his hand away and said indifferently, "I want to bet on this!"

With a swift turn of her body, she had already sat herself down on his seat. She had moved so fast that he could not even catch her. Wyatt frowned, knowing that she was trying to take out her anger on him! How could she be angry with him at a time like this?

Wyatt was mad as well, but her words kept repeating in his mind: "I'm not good at this."

She had no idea how to gamble but was still being so stubborn about this! She was asking for it! Wyatt's brows were knitted in anger. Things were supposed to end earlier; if only she had backed down when she was supposed to. At this time, Mr. Andrews also sat down. The other two men who were only here as his company also looked at each other and had no choice but to follow suit. After all, they were both familiar with each other, so perhaps the situation was still not a lost cause. The same could not be said if it were someone else!

Waverly grabbed a handful of chips and asked, "How's this?"

Her voice was soft and meek, but her movements had an air of elegance to them. She truly had her own charisma. Everyone's gaze unconsciously fell on Wyatt, who stood next to her, face full of doubt. Wyatt had no reason to refuse her since she had already spoken. His blood boiled with rage! 65. Seth's gaze shifted and he immediately realized that he was in a bad mood, which meant that something terrible might happen!

"The lady has spoken, so of course, it's no problem!"

Fiddling with a stack of chips in his hand, Mr. Andrews said, "If I lose, I will pay you back double the amount! If you're willing to bet, then you must also be willing to lose. I won't go easy on you, Miss Castle!" When their eyes met, Waverly knew exactly what he meant. She picked up a chip and tossed it to the center of the table.

"Let everyone here bear witness to the fact that although I am a woman, I will definitely do as I said I would!"

Her unexpectedly imposing attitude stunned everyone, including Wyatt.

Soon after, the cards on the table were reshuffled.

After three consecutive rounds, the winner thus far had been Mr. Andrews. When it was time for the cards

to get reshuffled once more, Waverly only had a handful of chips left in her hands. The man on the other end had his eyebrows raised, and Wyatt's face was terribly dark.
