Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 127

"Please leave immediately! My lawyer will be here any moment," Heidi said, forcing herself to remain calm. Gregory and Emma quickly stepped in, trying to push the reporters out.

"Ms. Ryan, why are you avoiding our questions?"

"If you truly are Ms. Olson, why have you been keeping such a low profile? And what's your issue with the vice president of the National Crochet Union?"

"Ms. Ryan, can you please give us a straight answer?"

Despite Gregory's and Emma's efforts to escort them out, the reporters grew more aggressive.

Suddenly, one of them spotted Edward and called out loudly, "Mr. Moore? Mr. Moore! What's your opinion on Ms. Ryan's alleged collaboration with the National Crochet Union to undermine Prosper Stitch Group?"

Heidi trembled with fury.

The silence finally settled only after the hospital ward door slammed shut and Gregory and Emma had their driver stand watch outside.

Now, facing Barbara and Edward, Gregory and Emma couldn't hide their discomfort.

"Please take a seat," Gregory said before turning to Janice. "Good day, Ms. Smith."

Janice gave a quiet smile and nodded.

Edward gently guided her to sit beside him but remained silent, offering no words or questions. The silence only made it more difficult for Gregory and Emma to find the right things to say.

What Harry had revealed was nearly undeniable. The thought that their daughter could be involved in a plot to suppress Prosper Stitch Group was beyond disgraceful.

Barbara, however, seemed to ignore everything the reporters had said earlier. Instead, she asked with feigned concern, "Is Ms. Ryan doing alright?"

Doing alright?

How could she be?

Heidi's face was so bruised and swollen that she was barely recognizable.

Barbara's question was clearly intentional.

No matter how composed she appeared, there was no way she could truly accept someone who had tried to sabotage her son—even if it was Heidi.

"She's fine, just some bruising. A little rest and she'll be back to her usual self," Emma replied.

Myra said slowly, "Ms. Ryan should be more careful about the people she keeps company with. While things might be more liberal overseas, here, acting too impulsively rarely bodes well."

Heidi took a deep breath, purposefully making her voice sound aggrieved.

"Edward, please believe me. I never meant to undermine Prosper Stitch Group. My only goal was to use Harry to gather information on the National Crochet Union's plans so that I Could help you. I never imagined things would spiral out of control like this... I don't even know where it all went wrong. This is all just a misunderstanding."

Once she finished speaking, Edward gave a brief nod.

Heidi's heart skipped a beat, hope flooding her chest. "Edward, do you really believe me?"

His tone remained calm and

emotionless. It doesn't matter. Even

if you did intend to suppress us, your family never had the ability to carry that out. But now that things have escalated, I think it's best we reduce our interactions going forward."

With those words, he severed all ties with the Ryan family.

Heidi's face stiffened.

Gregory and Emma, on the other hand, went pale as panic flashed in their eyes.

Barbara rose from her seat. "Ms. Ryan, please take care and get some rest. We won't keep you any longer."

Gregory quickly tried to ease the tension. "Thank you all for visiting Heidi. I'll make sure to bring her over soon to offer a proper apology. Mr. Moore, please don't—"

But Edward didn't even look back as he led Janice out.

Heidi's eyes followed them as they left, and in a surge of frustration, she swiped her hand across the bedside table, sending the cup and fruits tumbling to the floor.

Janice had come here just to watch her suffer, hadn't she?

Heidi hurriedly grabbed her phone and dialed her friend's number. She had to sue Harry. And more than that, she would make sure he took the fall for everything.

Edward and Janice had left and were on their way back to Prosper Stitch Group.

Inside the car, Calvin suddenly spoke, cutting through the silence.

"Mom, remember the woman named Ms. Smith you asked me to track down? Guess who she is."

"Who?"

"It's Edward's girlfriend—Janice,"

Calvin said. "I haven't confirmed it with her yet, but that day, she wore a mask and looked exactly like the woman in the photo you gave me."

IMS

Janice... was Ms. Smith?

Myra froze in shock. "It's really her! No wonder her last name is Smith too..."noveldrama

Calvin paused for a moment, then dropped another bombshell. "That's not all. Janice is also Ms. Shirley Olson."

The revelation hit hard. Even Terry, who had been sitting quietly in the back seat, looked up. "Are you serious?"

Terry had been searching for the perfect candidate for the cultural ambassador role, but none of the options had felt like the right fit.
