Chapter 131
"Simon, you'd better watch your mouth!" Adam roared.noveldrama
Simon wasn't having it. "Shut up! This is my house. Who the hell do you think you are?"
"You—"
Before Adam could finish, Simon's piercing gaze snapped to Amelia, who stood frozen with an ashen face.
"Amelia, get out of my house. If you keep dragging this out, don't blame me for charging you with fraud and throwing you in jail!"
Jail?
Amelia was both heartbroken and stunned. "I'm only sick, Simon. How could you treat me this way?"
How could he be so cruel?
It was clear now-the two siblings had schemed together, using her illness to prey on his sympathy and drain his money. And yet, she still had the nerve to act like the victim.
"Unfortunately for you, it's a filthy disease. Just how many men did you sleep with to catch it? The very thought makes me want to vomit!"
Simon's relentless insults pushed Adam past his breaking point. Fury overtook him as he lunged forward, ready to throw a punch.
But before he could land a blow, Helena stormed in, drawn by the chaos. With a shove, she forced Adam back.
"What do you think you're doing, raising your hand against my son?" she snapped.
"He was cursing at Amelia!" Adam bellowed.
Helena's expression darkened. "Will someone tell me what the hell is going on here?"
"Mom, Amelia never had lung cancer-she has HIV!" Simon's face twisted with rage, his eyes burning with undisguised contempt.
"What?" Helena recoiled in horror, shoving Amelia away. "Get the hell away from my son!"
"HIV?"
Sarah had just stepped into the room when she heard those words. The bowl of fruit in her hands slipped and crashed to the floor as she staggered back. She had to grip the door frame for support.
"Simon, can it spread through the air? Oh my god—" She doubled over, dry heaving uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, Helena instinctively yanked Simon farther away from Amelia.
The humiliation was suffocating. Amelia's face burned, but she couldn't force out a single word.
"You're absolutely disgusting!"
Helena spat, her voice laced with
disdain. "I thought you came from a respectable family and that you had some dignity. But you're nothing more than a filthy disgrace! Now that I think about it, you're nowhere near as good as Janice! At least she's not diseased. Get the hell out!"
Amelia desperately wished she could vanish into thin air.
Just as she turned to leave, Simon's voice rang out. "Amelia!"
Hearing her name, a rush of hope filled her chest. For a brief moment, she allowed herself to believe that he still cared. She turned back, her face heavy with sorrow as she met his gaze.
But Simon's next words cut through her like a blade. "Pay back every cent I've spent on you. I'm not obligated to support you, let alone pay for your treatment!"
"W-What?" Amelia stuttered, feeling as though the floor had just collapsed beneath her. Did he really want her to pay him back? What kind of person would say something like that?
return
"Stop stuttering," Simon sneered, his voice dripping with venom. "You slept around and caught some disgusting disease. Why the hell should pay for it? If you don't my money, I'll make sure your brother goes down with you. The two of you schemed to deceive me, so get ready to rot in prison!
"Fuck off!"
On that bitterly cold, snow-covered night, Helena and Sarah stood at the villa's entrance, their expressions twisted with disgust as they flung Amelia's belongings into the freezing darkness.
Sarah covered her nose, her face contorting in disdain. "I can't believe how pathetic you are! No wonder my mom always said so. Compared to Janice, you're a total disappointment.
"At least she can work, sew, make a living, and even cook for our family. But you're completely incapable. And to make matters worse, you're stuck with a worthless freeloader!"
The irony of Sarah—a lifelong leech—calling Adam a parasite was almost laughable.
While Adam couldn't take on Simon, that didn't mean he wouldn't unleash his rage elsewhere.
Sarah shrieked in pain as Adam grabbed her by the hair, yanking her down before slapping her hard across the face.
Before he could land another hit, Simon stormed forward and delivered a vicious kick, sending Adam tumbling down the steps. His forehead slammed into the frozen ground, swelling instantly.
"Adam!"
Amelia rushed to his side, her hands shaking from the bitter cold.
As she lifted her head, she saw the Fitzgeralds standing in the doorway, staring down at them like they were nothing more than filth.
What do you think?
