Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 139

Overnight, the crochet industry in Greenfield City was thrown into disarray.

Prosper Stitch Group had invested heavily to dominate the raw materials supply. The first to feel the repercussions was Refined Threads Co.

With the year-end rush underway, securing raw materials was more crucial than ever. But now, their supply had been completely cut off.

It was a devastating blow.

Simon learned of the crisis through Melody & Loops Creations.noveldrama

Without wasting a moment, he called Edward directly. "Mr. Moore, what's going on here?"

Edward's voice was cold, laced with venom. "Why don't you ask your so-called wife—Ms. Burnett? She had the nerve to involve my father in her personal grudge and slander my girlfriend to him. As Ms. Burnett's husband, it's only natural that you suffer the consequences of her actions."

The line went silent.

At that moment, Simon understood exactly what had happened. It turned out that Amelia had gone straight to Edward's father.

Struggling to keep his anger in check, Simon quickly called her. "Where are you right now?"

Thinking he had finally come around, Amelia softened her voice, pretending to be vulnerable. "I'm at Mr. Appleton's place."

"Stay there. I'm coming."

A rush of excitement filled Amelia's chest. It seemed Simon still hadn't let go of her.

Just moments earlier, she had seen a news report. Tonight, the crochet industry was in turmoil, and Prosper Stitch Group was among the companies affected.

Turmoil?

Was Edward already making his move?

Did this mean Simon had realized her worth over Janice and was finally coming for her?

Amelia's heart swelled with hope.

Before long, Simon's car screeched to a halt in front of Arthur's house.

Beneath the snowy night sky, he watched as Amelia stepped out, her expression

a mix of grievance and cautious anticipation.

"Simon," she called out.

Just as she turned to bid Arthur farewell, Simon lunged forward, yanking her toward him.

Her scream sliced through the cold air.

Right in front of Adam and the Appletons, Simon grabbed Amelia by the hair and struck her twice across the face. Before she could react, he followed up with a ruthless punch that sent her reeling

Caught completely off guard, Amelia's vision blurred as pain crashed over her. Stars flickered in her eyes, and a stream of blood trickled from her nose. Her legs gave out beneath her, and she collapsed to the ground, too dazed to even speak.

"Mr. Fitzgerald, what are you—"

"Shut the hell up!" Simon snapped, silencing Arthur before he could finish.

Adam sprang forward, shoving Simon back. "Are you out of your goddamn mind?"

Simon's eyes blazed with rage as he pointed at Amelia, his voice a furious snarl. "Amelia, what the hell possessed you to go to Edward's father?"

Before she could react, his leather shoe struck her chest. "If you want to destroy yourself, fine—but don't you dare take me down with you!"

Like a man on the edge, he grabbed her and shoved her into the car without mercy.

"You're going to apologize to Edward and Janice right now. You'll go on your knees, with your head on the ground! If Refined Threads Co. collapses because of this, Amelia, I swear I'll make sure you go down with it!"

Edward was willing to burn millions to crush Refined Threads Co., cutting off

every possible supply route without hesitation.

Simon knew deep down that Edward wasn't bluffing, and a wave of fear swept over him.

This was the empire he had spent years building.

Now, regret consumed Simon. How could he have been so blind as to let someone like Amelia into his life?
