Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 140

Amelia tried to scramble out of the car, but her legs buckled beneath her. She collapsed onto the freezing pavement, clutching her face as blood trickled from her nose.noveldrama

"Why the hell should I apologize to Janice?" she shrieked. "She's the one ruining my marriage! She should be begging me for forgiveness!"

Simon was completely taken aback upon hearing this. Being as two-faced as he was, his fury erupted, and he let every cruel thought escape without restraint.

"And what exactly did she ruin? Was there ever even an 'us' to begin with? Stop deluding yourself! Let me spell it out for you again-I only agreed to marry you out of pity. To be brutally honest, I just wanted to see the day when someone as arrogant and self-important as you would finally be brought to your knees!

"Do you really think anyone would want someone with HIV? You were nothing to me before, and now, you're even less than that!"

On that cold, snowy night, Simon's words hit like a slap of ice, leaving Amelia frozen in shock and her mind reeling.

W-What?

He had nothing but pity for her?

He longed to see her break beneath him?

Had Simon really stopped loving her?

As the shocking revelation unfolded, the Appletons stood frozen in disbelief.

HIV?

Had Amelia truly contracted it?

Simon yanked at his tie, his frustration boiling over. "Besides, what makes you think you're any better than her? All you do is play the helpless victim! From the very start, you've been pretending to be weak, but the moment we go shopping, you walk faster than a damn dog!

"You've been stringing me along this whole time, and I haven't even held you accountable. Yet here you are, causing even more trouble! Like it or not, you will apologize!"

"Let go of me!"

Fuming, Amelia shoved Simon away with all her strength, her voice laced with fury. "Do you really think you're something special? Simon, you're nothing but an empty shell-flashy on the outside, completely useless on the inside!

"All you do is scheme and take shortcuts, leeching off Janice! Without her, you're just a lost kid, stumbling in every direction! So tell me, what exactly gives you the right to be so damn arrogant?"

Suddenly, a sharp slap echoed through the air.

Simon could endure many things, but being compared to Janice was infuriating beyond measure. To him, Janice meant nothing. And who the hell did Amelia think she was, trying to tecture him?

Just as Adam lunged forward, Simon's driver swiftly restrained him. All Adam could do was seethe in frustration.

Without a second thought, Simon grabbed Amelia again, shoved her into the car, and slammed the door shut.

Turning back, he jabbed a finger at Adam. "Let me warn you-stay in your place, or Amelia won't be the only one to suffer!"

Adam could only watch as the car drove away, stomping his feet in frustration.

Meanwhile, Arthur quickly ushered his wife and daughter back into their villa. "So, Dad... Does that mean Amelia and Mr. Fitzgerald were never actually involved?" Elsie asked, picking up on the key detail.

Arthur let out a weary sigh. "That's not our concern."

"But Dad, didn't you mention hearing rumors about a major corporation monopolizing the market and specifically targeting Mr. Fitzgerald's company, Refined Threads Co.?"

Elste pressed.

"Yeah."

Arthur was facing supply issues himself.

"We still have some inventory left, don't we? Why not send some to Mr. Fitzgerald first?"

"And what about us?"

"If we help him out now, he won't forget it. Amelia is of no use to us anymore, so we need to find our own way forward," Elsie replied, meeting Arthur's gaze. "Dad, M Fitzgerald isn't married yet. And neither am I."

Arthur was momentarily taken aback. "Elsie, you—"

"We've worked too hard to establish ourselves in Greenfield City. We can't afford to let this opportunity pass us by."

Arthur's expression darkened with concern. "But if we supply Mr. Fitzgerald with raw materials, won't that put us at odds with Prosper Stitch Group?"

"We're not a raw materials supplier. We'd just be reallocating excess stock. So, what do you think?"

Arthur fell into silence, weighing her words carefully. "I'll think about it."

Elsie took a sip of water, a subtle smile curling the corners of her lips.
