Chapter 141
It seemed that the heavens were truly on Elsie's side.
Amelia had never married Simon, after all.
This was the perfect scenario.
...
"Ms. Smith!"
Janice strode into the Prosper Stitch Group building, pushing open the door to Edward's office. "Edward, what's going on with the stock market?"
The room was crowded. Matilda, senior finance executives, accountants, and the heads of subsidiary crochet factories were all present.
Edward waved his hand at her. "I was just about to explain.
"Everyone, please leave us."
One by one, the executives exited the room.
Janice sank onto the couch, and Edward joined her, keeping a measured distance as he lit a cigarette.
"Suddenly acquiring such large quantities of raw materials will definitely raise alarms and make other companies cautious. You know that as well as I do," Janice reminded him.
Edward met her gaze. "That's why I let it slip that Refined Threads Co. crossed me, forcing me to take drastic measures. They'll believe it was an impulsive decision, but in reality, this has been part of my strategy from the start."
Monopolizing the raw material suppliers was the key to Prosper Stitch Group dominating the crochet industry. He hadn't done it before because Prosper Stitch Group had never qualified for the international championship.
But now that Janice had succeeded, Edward was determined to capitalize on the momentum and strike a decisive blow to Refined Threads Co.
Everything was unfolding as planned.
"So, you're willing to absorb such a heavy cost for this acquisition?" Janice frowned. "That's a loss."
"Let it be a loss," Edward replied. "I'm trading that money for ten-year contracts with domestic suppliers. In the end, it's a win for me."
Janice's expression tightened. "How much more did you spend?"
"The finance team hasn't finished the final calculations yet, but I've already bought up all the bulk silk and thread used in the domestic market. So far, it's an additional 120 million dollars." en
That was pure cash flow.
"With all this spending, aren't you worried the cash flow might fall short?"
"It won't," Edward reassured her. "Your batch of orders has already covered half of
the prepayment. Everything is under control. You don't need to worry."
"Why the sudden shift in strategy? Is something happening?" Janice asked.
Edward clicked his tongue, opting to keep quiet about Amelia. "Simonhas been strutting in front of me for too long. With the new year coming, I thought I'd send him a little 'gift.'
"Although the acquisition cost is steep, once you make a breakthrough in the international championship next year, these materials might no longer be
enough. With this strategy, veliket

raising prices after you've made your mark."
Edward was confident in his plan.noveldrama
In reality, everything had already fallen into place in Edward's mind. He was
simply executing it step by step.
To outsiders, it may have appeared like a sudden decision, but in reality, Edward had meticulously planned every move-though he did act a little earlier than anticipated.
Janice patted her chest. "Alright. You handle the big decisions. I'll focus on working hard to ensure you're able to raise prices when the time comes."
Edward flicked the ash from his cigarette. "Why are you in such a hurry? It's so late, yet you're still here."
Janice shot him a playful glare. "Well, you never mentioned anything about this matter beforehand."
Unbeknownst to her, her expression resembled that of a teasing, affectionate wife.
Edward's eyes flickered briefly as he extinguished his cigarette. Standing up, he reached for Janice's hand and pulled her toward the door.
Confused, she asked, "Where are we going?"
"Come on. Let's get a late-night snack," Edward replied.
What do you think?
