Chapter 25
Chupie 25 Chapter 25
Billie grabbed her coat. As a lawyer, her demeanor was different from the average woman. Even when she was doing something as simple as putting on a coat, she exuded an air of authority. Her
r response to Castiel was equally bold. Without answering his question, she took the unfinished coffee in front of her and splashed it onto him.
"That was for Niamh," she said, placing the cup heavily on the table. Her gaze was unflinching as she stared down Castiel, who was absolutely livid.
Niamh's life in the Jamison family had been miserable. Her husband's heart was elsewhere, her mother-in-law made things difficult, and her sister-in-law constantly caused trouble. Billie felt it was only fair to give him a taste of the bitterness Niamh had endured. In the end, Castiel left the café without any information about Niamh's whereabouts. The only thing he got was being drenched in coffee. His expression was stormy as he walked out.
The driver was so terrified he didn't dare to make a sound, thinking to himself that modern women were not to be trifled with. Niamh had always been gentle, poised, and sensible. Still, she had managed to turn Castlel's life upside down lately.
Seated in the back seat, Castiel called Lucian and instructed, "Get the airport records immediately. Find out where she went."
Castiel was furious. He had never imagined Niamh would leave the country without a word.
They had been in love for seven years, and married for three. All this time, Niamh had never left Greenbur
Anytime they had to travel far, they would have gone together. But now, for the first time, she had left the country on her own.
The only thing on Castiel's mind was finding Niamh. He had many matters to attend to previously. But now, his top priority was to locate his missing wife.
Castiel hadn't bothered to check the airport before because he was certain she Greenburg. However, things turned out to be out of his expectations. Whether she was abroad or
as still in even in outer space, he was determined to bring her back.
Lucian was fast to act on instructions. Two hours later, he called.
"Mr. Jamison!" Even through the phone, his nervousness was palpable.
Castiel ran his hand through his already disheveled hair, looking exhausted. "Where did she go?" "Someone is interfering with our investigation into Mrs. Jamison's whereabouts." "What?" Castiel exclaimed.
"Mrs. Jamison's airport records have been erased. The only thing we know for sure is that she has left Greenburg from the surveillance footage," Lucian explained. But where exactly she went remained a mystery-those records had been wiped.
Castiel's expression became incredibly austere and somewhat sinister. His eyes were bloodshot, and they could send a chill down anyone who looked at him.
Niamh was gone, and someone was preventing him from tracking her down. He had no idea she knew anyone in Greenburg with that kind of influence. "Find out who's behind this," Castiel commanded, his voice filled with barely restrained fury. He was determined to see for himself who was helping her. "Sure, Mr. Jamison," Lucian replied.
Whoever had the power to erase Niamh's records was likely someone on Castiel's level. Despite his anger, Castiel remained rational and started investigating Greenburg's most powerful families. He got some results quickly after narrowing his search. Unfortunately, they were disappointing. Lucian reported back that Niamh had no ties to any of the influential families in Greenburg. She wasn't even acquainted with any of them.
When she had first come to Greenburg with Castiel, her only close friend had been Billie. Obviously, Billie didn't have that kind of power or reach.
It was a dead end. If Niamh had no connections, then who was helping her?
After that, three months went by. Three months was long enough for many things to change. In Greenburg and overseas, things took a drastic turn.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
