Chapter 1496
"He... likes my sister?" The shocking thought had barely surfaced before it jolted Winnie.
"You've got the wrong person. I'm not Winnie," Jamie quickly pushed Ben toward Winnie's side.
A look of irritation crossed Ben's face. It was Jamie he wanted to hold. What did Winnie have to do with him?
Annoyed, he grumbled, "Why do you keep pushing me away?"
"Jack, you're mistaken. I'm your fiancée!" Winnie finally couldn't hold back anymore.
She strode over, took Ben's hand, and placed it around her waist. "I get that my sister and I look a bit alike, but you can't keep confusing us like this!"
She had brushed it off the first couple of times, but this was going too far.
Ben still seemed inclined to push her away.
Just then, the taxi arrived, and Jamie opened the front passenger door, slipping inside.
Seeing this, Ben staggered in her direction, while Winnie hurried to open the back door for him.
Once inside, Ben leaned back in the seat and fell asleep almost immediately.
Not wanting to disturb him, Winnie let him rest until they arrived at their building. She struggled to help him upstairs on her own, refusing to ask Jamie for help. Jamie, feeling somewhat guilty toward her sister, naturally kept her distance, quietly following a few steps behind. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Winnie managed to get Ben onto the
living room sofa. She turned to
Jamie and said, "I'll stay in here and look after Jack. Thanks for coming with me tonight. You can head up to bed now."
Jamie could tell she was being subtly dismissed.
"Alright, you get some rest too," she replied, then went to her bedroom and closed the door behind her.
Now it was just Winnie and Ben in the living room.
She had been feeling a bit upset, but the smell of alcohol on him washed away her frustration. "I've told you before, I don't need so much money. I just want the two of us to be happy together. If you drink this much again, I won't let you come back."
She didn't want the father of her child to be a drunk.
Ben was fast asleep and oblivious to the world around him. In his dreams, he was transported back four years, but this time, things were different.
Jamie hadn't walked away with the money. She had turned down the check and resolutely stood by his side. Their relationship had flourished, leading to marriage, and they even had a sweet little child. A contented smile appeared on his face, radiating happiness.
When Winnie returned with a mug of hangover tea, she gently nudged him. "Jack, wake up for a second and drink this. Then you can go back to sleep."
"Our baby..." Ben murmured softly.
Winnie's face flushed. She took his
hand and placed it on her stomach. "The baby's doing great. We're both doing well. In just a few months, you'll get to meet your little one. I'm hoping for a girl. They say daughters take
after their dads. If she looks like
you, she'll be beautiful.”
She kept talking, her voice soft and affectionate, until her throat grew dry. Finally, she grabbed a blanket, spread it out on the floor, and lay down beside him.
